The house was purchased in 1957 by a young couple. They moved in with their two toddlers, my older brother and me. At that time, the house included 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It was the couple's first home, and their only home, for over 65 years. As their family grew, the house grew with the addition of a second bathroom, the conversion of a small den into a bedroom and the addition of a basement and 2 car garage. My dad did most of the construction himself and the original Craftsman built in 1916 morphed through 6 decades of renovations and decor from midcentury to the eclectic feel it has today. Recently, we decided to restore some Craftsman style detail in the home. My younger brother is the artisan who did the work. The board and batten in the dining room and the 5 panel doors and trim throughout the home are part of his restoration project. As the house matured, so did we. Many birthdays, holidays, family dinners and tons of milestones were celebrated at this address. Little did that young couple, so many years ago, ever predict that memories would continue to be made in their home, not only by family but by guests who came to visit.
