Wow , we were honestly impressed with this place, it’s spotless clean, beautiful inside, felt like we were in a luxury unit, lots of room, great comfortable beds, we loved the bathroom with warm up toilets! It has everything you need and more! Wish we stayed longer because it was great! The parking was easy, access breezy, just amazing!
Our stay at Judith´s was fantastic! Her place is highly recommended! Our family of 5 had comfortable space to stay, with 2 bedrooms and a sofa at the entrance that was the bed of our daughter, worked perfect. House design and amenities / technology are outstanding! Cleanness and details (amount of towels, bathrobes, quality of linens, kitchen appliances etc) was at a 5 stars hotel level. Amazing!!! The neighborhood is not centric, however is peaceful and seems to be secure. And it´s very convenient commute of 15 min to SFO. We hope to come back soon to Judith´s!

History (very abbreviated, if you're interested):
West Oakland is arguably the most diverse and dynamic neighborhood in Oakland, hailing from its history as the terminus of the Central Pacific line of the First Transcontinental Railroad in the late 1800s. Before World War II, West Oakland was a very diverse working class area of Oakland: Irish, Italians, Greeks, African Americans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Latinxs, and Asians lived and worked together side by side in West Oakland.
The start of World War II brought many workers to fill in the labor shortages. The African American population of West Oakland increased as thousands of African American War Workers came from the Southern United States. By the 1940s, West Oakland became the major West Coast blues center, and was considered the "Harlem of the West". The local clubs around 7th attracted military visiting the port, out-of-towners and locals alike. Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, T-Bone Walker, Big Mama Thornton, Al Green and others all performed in the Harlem of the West scene (5 min drive / Willow St & 7th St).
In the late 1960s, the Black Panthers set up their main office on Peralta Street (5 min drive), and DeFremery Park (3 min drive) was the site of Black Panther rallies and social programs. To this day, West Oakland is still known for its diverse population, multitude of art murals and events, and local venues supporting live music.
