Enjoy rural tranquility close to Whangarei. Wake up to the birds chirping and experience the peacefulness of the countryside. Our studio has a spacious master bedroom, a cozy mezzanine lounge and a rooftop terrace upstairs. The second bedroom is downstairs, together with the open plan living/dining area and bathroom. A breakfast of tea, coffee, cereal, toast and spreads is provided for your stay. The property has spacious grounds with gardens, a home orchard, duck pond and mature native bush. There are short trails and a boardwalk through the bush which guests are welcome to use with caution. The 2 bedroom, 2 level studio is attached, but independent, to the main house via a rooftop terrace. We have a bed rail for toddlers which can be fitted on one of the single beds. There is also a spare foam mattress and additional bedding to add flexibility and these can be requested if needed.

Highly recommend! Gorgeous nature setting. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts. It was amazing to spend time in their garden and our kids feasted on all of their fruit trees. Their little house is luxurious: two bedrooms which are super comfy. They even provided breakfast. They went over and above, and met us in town later to return something we left behind. Simply amazing!!

This stay was way beyond our expectations, every detail was carefully crafted to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The beds were immaculately made and so comfortable, the paths to explore were magical, the many outdoor areas to sit or explore were a delight, and the hosts were very kind and welcoming.

Maungakaramea village is 10km inland from State-highway 1 which is 8km south of central Whangarei. There is a Gas station which has some grocery supplies and postal facilities. The surrounding countryside is very peaceful with predominantly avocado orchards and farms.
You will need to have your own transport to get here as there is no public transport to Maungakaramea. There is parking in front of the studio for your use.
