Located just 7 minutes from downtown Camden, and walking distance to multiple trailheads of the Camden Hills State Park, this cottage is a perfect for a family looking for quiet lake life with a convenient location to downtown. Welcome to a family cottage on Megunticook Lake. This is a100 year old cottage with lots of rustic character that has been remodeled with cozy, clean, modern comfort in mind. The house is about 900 square feet and is located in the Lake City area of Megunticook Lake. It is a easy walk to Barretts Cove, Camden Hills State Park, and a 7 minute drive to downtown Camden. The house has a beautiful grassy lawn that looks over the lake and Maiden's Cliff. Our 100' long dock has a several areas to sit and lounge, and has at least 10' of water at the end of jumping and swimming in the lake. There is a hammock, fire pit, picnic table and plenty of outdoor games and inflatable toys to keep you entertained for hours. On the first floor is the open living area. It looks out onto the screened-in porch and lake beyond. The living area has been refinished to feature shiplap walls, wide plank pine floors, brand new windows and cottage-chic decor. The living area has plenty of seating and a cozy nook stocked with board games and puzzles. A smart TV, a workspace desk are located in this space. The screened-in porch is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, even in rain or when the bugs come out. There are a few Adirondack chairs and a long dining table. There is a small half-bath on the porch -- perfect for wet swimmers who need to use the bathroom. The kitchen is older but has been updated with a new stove/range, microwave, and refrigerator. All amenities for making meals are supplied. Large window in the kitchen overlook the lake so even those stuck cooking can enjoy the scenery. There is a smaller bedroom on the first floor. It has a twin sized daybed with a trundle underneath. This is a good room for children. The washer and dryer are in this room, as well. The bathroom features a shower and plenty of bath towels. There are plenty of beach towels in the linen cabinet. Up the steep, narrow stairs (it is an old cottage!) are two bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed and large windows looking out to the lake. The sunrise over the Camden Hills is beautiful from this room. Th second bedroom has two twin-sized beds. There is a coz little nook in the stairwell, great for kids to crawl into with a book for some down time. It is NOT for sleeping, as there are no guardrails to prevent falling. The house has been insulated to regulate temperatures. There are fans in every room. There is no central air conditioning. There is a Rennai heater and space heaters.
