Welcome to Meridian, a beautiful home tucked into a hidden corner of the village of San Agustin, Etla. Ascending the side of a hill, Meridian is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden filled with towering palm trees, cacti and succulents, and whispering stands of bamboo. It is a perfect home to come back to after a day of exploring beautiful Oaxaca, but is also perfect just for lounging by the pool or hanging out reading in the private courtyard with fountain, or on your personal terrace. Your accommodations are the entire bottom floor of the house, which has its own locking entrance, while your hosts live on the floor above you in a separate unit. The house lies inside of a walled compound with large, locking metal gate and free outdoor parking is included during your time here. The house features two full bedrooms with queen-size beds, a bathroom lined with Mexican tile, an ample living room with 55” HDR television, well-stocked kitchen equipped for making complete meals, and a private terrace with seating for four. Both bedrooms open onto a courtyard with a fountain that has views of the hills and surrounding villages. The courtyard has patio furniture for four people (with umbrella) and is reserved for your private use during your stay. Virtually all of the furniture in the home has been custom made, and is predominantly constructed of huanacastle, a type of exotic hardwood which grows in Mexico. The property is excellent as a base for exploring the region, or to settle in for some remote work. We're about a 30 minute drive to the center of Oaxaca city (Oaxaca de Juárez), and an hour to the villages south of the city which feature handmade rugs, textiles, pottery, wood carving, and have archeological sites and ruins. The house has fiber optic internet on a mesh network so the speed is consistently excellent and the connection seamless, and the house has indoor and outdoor work space.
