Wir haben uns vom ersten Tag an wie zu Hause gefühlt. Uns haben am besten der Pool mit Sonnenterrasse und die schöne ruhige Lage gefallen. Wandern war direkt vom Haus aus möglich. Die Vermieter sind außerordentlich freundlich und Hilfsbereit.
Paul did everything he could to make our stay as pleasant as possible, we didnt use the pool as it was too cold as we stayed in Jan and Feb, but the hot tub was great. We desired a peaceful location with plenty of local exploring about to do and this was the perfect location for that. The house benefits from a great view of the valley and surrouding hills. Some things we found out..... There is a great local cafe in Alportel, just a short walk away. The costume museum in Sao Bras has so much more and is one of the best museums we found, not just old old pottery. Download the Mapy app and the offline map for Portugal to find lots of local walking and cycling options. The TV has a casting input built in, download the Miracast app to access it.

Paul’s place was great, he was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations, the terrace is big and sunny all day with a beautiful view over a calm valley, look forward to going back one day!
The description of this apartment is very accurate. Therefore if you are looking for luxury accommodation, this is not the one for you. If however you are happy with basic equiptment in a spacious and comfortable setting, at a very affordable price, you will enjoy staying here. We have spent the month of January here for a sunshine break. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment's position on the valley side means there are always lovely views. Sunrises and sunsets are stunning. A fifteen minute stroll along ancient walled routeways takes you to the village with the friendliest local café. A short drive into the hills brings you to traditional Portuguese restaurants with delicious homecooked meals. Local market towns provided all our self catering needs. Most of the well known Algarve resorts are within an easy 30 minute drive and it's less than hour to the Spanish border. This location meant we were never short of somewhere to visit. For anyone planning to come in summer, the pool is stunning. Obviously too cold in January but surrounded by it's sunny terrace, I would imagine you would hardly need to leave the apartment in July and August. Only the water pressure spasmodically caused us a few problems for showering or washing up but we understood this is a regional complication not the apartment. We hope to return again for another winter break. We have certainly benefited from the warm, sunny days and relaxing atmosphere of both the accommodation and the area.
