The top deck sits immediately off the well-appointed kitchen that includes a gas stove and outdoor gas grill. The bottom deck includes a picnic table and a private hot tub with an enviable sunset view. This light-filled home encompasses three stories with a floorplan that allows both for privacy and for entertaining. Three bedrooms and the bonus queen Murphy bed suite accommodate eight people. You’ll find plenty of home entertainment options (4 flatscreen TVs, premium cable, ping pong table, movies, and lots of board games) as well as a beach cart, beach chairs, and kindling to get your beach bonfire started. (Note: please check with local fire alerts and guidelines). Grab a book or board game and cozy up to one of two gas fireplaces. Watch or join the locals surfing, fishing, crabbing, or agate hunting just steps away from your vacation paradise. Surfboard and kayak rentals are both nearby. This quiet gem is nestled between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, famous for whale watching. Within two miles, you’ll find several restaurants and brewpubs (including the farm-to-table Side Door Cafe) and a well-stocked market (with wine, beer, and organics). Other nearby activities offer something for everyone: an 18-hole golf course, Spa and aerial park (at Salishan resort), Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Gleneden Beach State Park, hiking and biking trails, sailing and fishing charters, whale watching excursions, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Chinook Winds Casino, numerous art galleries, fine dining, wine tasting, and outlet shopping. Ocean Explorer offers a peaceful retreat off the beaten path. Very nice location, and close to beach access. The home is nicely appointed with an extesnsive collection of kitchen wares. Loved our stay.
Our stay was nice. Aside from a few maintenance issues, the place was a good place to stay on the beach. It was not walkable to restaurants which was ok with us. The place was well cleaned and a great location for beach access. You can walk one or two mins down to the beach and the views of the ocean are great from the main and lower floors and decks. The sliding door to the balcony on the main floor was not very functional- you can open it by lifting and sliding it with two ppl. The windows technically open, but won’t stay open (we stayed here on the one sunny day a year you might experience on the Oregon coast, and it was hot). One of the showers didn’t drain well. The hot tub worked for half of our stay but turned off and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it back on (it wasn’t the breaker as far as we could tell). Overall, the place met our needs, had great views and was comfortable and clean. The price point could be lower with the lower attention to maintenance.
It was perfect for my little getaway, some windows don’t open, couldn’t get the sliding glass door to close. The $175 cleaning fee was steep, since it ended up being only me.
Really beautiful place!
Great views of the ocean and only minutes away from beach access. The house was clean and comfortable. Will definitely make a return trip.
