The Egyptian was a cute and cozy place to stay. It was a bit loud at night especially on the ground floor, but this was acknowledged by the property and ear plugs were provided, which did the trick. Nice courtyard area with fun evening entertainment and great food at the restaurant! I was able to walk into downtown Phoenix easily.

I wanted to love this place but a couple things prevented me from being able to. Positives: Super fun room design. The motel courtyard with the bar was incredibly nice to hang out in. Live music was fun to see there. The attached restaurant was outstanding and a place I would go back to in a minute. Negatives: The room was dated. the wallpaper was peeling, the carpet felt sticky and in need of a deep cleaning, the magic eightball was broken. Also, the room wasn't as clean as I would expect. One example was there were three dead flies on the windowsill. Also, the body wash bottle had to have been reused as there wasn't enough for me to take one shower with it and I had to grab the bar soap by the sink as well. Finally, I don't remember seeing in the listing that parking would be extra. All in all, 3 stars. Good with a lot of potential to be great.
