We have extensively remodeled this special home and brought it forward from the 1960s while maintaining its character, including the original wrought iron railing and open vaulted living room. We've also incorporated some elements of Altoona's history into the home. It's the perfect cozy and welcoming space to rest and relax whether traveling for work, visiting family, or exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The two queen bedrooms with en suites are located at each end of the upper level for maximum privacy and comfort. Each has a separate zoned thermostat, ceiling fan, blackout curtain/light-filtering blinds, and smart TV. Bathrooms are new with tiled showers, rain head fixtures, and LED mirrors. The living room features a variety of seating to relax, read, or play games. A drop leaf table provides additional options for table seating. The kitchen is outfitted with new cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and garbage disposal as well as the essentials you need to cook, bake, and brew that all-important cup of coffee. The lower level houses a freshened laundry room with access directly to the carport. Additional outside renovations to the carport area is in stages of renovation, but is fully functional.

Beautiful home!! Just like the pictures. The house was spotless and very nicely remodeled. Loved that each bedroom had its own private bathroom with great water pressure. Judy was very attentive. Hopefully next time I'm in the area Judy's place is available. 5 stars for sure!!
This place is a very comfortable stay. The entire place was clean when we got there. Good space to have and relatively close to the city of Altoona. Overall, a great place to stay!

Nice neighborhood convenient to lots of amenities or just take a walk, which local residents often do. The PSU Altoona campus is not far with paved paths, a pond, and exercise track. Small shopping plaza across the street with restaurants (see below), exercise studio, Family Dollar store, hair salon, Escape Room, and more. Sheetz convenience store/gas, bank, hardware store, and car wash are also nearby. Grocery store is a short drive along with a few other retail locations.
There are several restaurants close to the house. The shopping plaza includes Jaidee Thai, Great China, Subway, and Papa John pizza. Not far down the street is Mama Randazzo's (Italian). Mike's Court is a friendly small neighborhood place full of basketball memorabilia. Tom & Joe's is a classic downtown diner and has been around since 1933.
Also around town: The Clay Cup and Green Bean Coffee are great coffee shops. Meadows famous frozen custard is the best! The Athenian Cafe has wonderful Greek food, La Fiesta (Mexican), JJ Hadley's offers wood fired pizza. The Knickerbocker is an Altoona landmark with great drinks and eats. Also check out Allegheny Crepes & Creamery in nearby Hollidaysburg. There are a number of chain restaurants in the area as well.
Parking is generally free and plentiful in parking lots or street parking. Bus stops are convenient. Some Uber/Lyft is available.

As an Altoona native, I appreciate the history and beauty of this area. Anthony and I have made our home here and although we work hard at our own careers, we always seem to be remodeling something! We had the opportunity to breathe new life into this property and dove headfirst into the project. We enjoy traveling (when we have time...) and have had great experiences as Airbnb guests.
