Urmila is a great host, who responded quickly when we needed her. The apartment is in a good location in Lazimpat, and is well equipped. Your place is always cleaned and they brought us fire wood for the wood burner, which is so cosy. During the stay internet went down but Urmila came and sorted it quickly. Enjoy your stay in Kathmandu!

I chose urmila's place for my one month stay in Nepal and it was great! The place was exactly as described and more. Really spacious, comfortable and close to thamel and other nice cafes (tings tea house just across from the apartment was a great place to have breakfast and Salon de Kathmandu just down Lazimpat Rd near the Radisson was a nice place to have lunch and get some work done away from the noise of the city), supermarkets (blue moon and big mart), electronic stores for your adaptors as well as mobile shops for your Nepali sim, and even massage places (tranquility spa: best hot stone massage ever located at Shangri la just up the street). It was also just a 10 min walk from the place I was volunteering at, so it was the perfect location for me. The rooftop space was also a great place to kick back on the hammock after a long day and was always empty while I was there so it felt very private. The kitchen was also stocked with everything I needed to cook for myself and the best part was that I'd always come home to a clean apartment. Didi was impeccably thorough with the cleaning everyday, which was a great touch. The only issues I had was mainly with the shower. The tap was quite hard to turn on but once you get used to it it's ok. The apartment was also quite cold but I bought a small heater for the room which only cost around rs.1500 (around USD15) from across the street and that was enough to keep me warm. They also provide a gas heater but don't make the same mistake I did and leave it on full blast because it will finish quickly that way and costs USD$20 to get another gas tank. If you use it sparingly it will last your stay! There was also some construction going on next door but it wasn't much of a bother and whenever it was I'd just go to a cafe in the area to do some work. Small issues that were easily fixable so I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable private loft in the city! Thanks again urmila and sisir! X
