Experience Providence in Style at the Ebenezer Knight Dexter–John J. Stimson House (Rose Farm), Built in 1800 Step into a world of historic elegance and modern luxury at the Ebenezer Knight Dexter–John J. Stimson House (Rose Farm), a stunning landmark property on Angell Street. This timeless condo, an exquisite addition to the main house, invites you to experience the grandeur of the late 17th-century architecture combined with modern comforts. History of the House: When Ebenezer Dexter built this country retreat, it stood at the eastern edge of settlement in Providence. Several of the city's wealthy residents maintained country seats on the then-rural outskirts of the city, but this is the only remaining gentleman's farmhouse from the period in the vicinity. The house features a brick-ended Federal style with exceptionally tall, paired end chimneys and a high roof hipped to a balustraded deck behind paired dormers, recalling other substantial local houses from the 1790s. Its original plan, with a transverse hall crossing the center hall to doors on either side of the building, may have been more commonly used in the country than in town houses. Location: Within walking distance of prestigious Brown University and the creative hub of Rhode Island School of Design Easy access to Thayer Street, Wayland Square, downtown Providence, Benefit Street, and Wickenden Street Short distance to the convention center, India Point Park, Broadway Street, and Federal Hill Surrounded by a plethora of renowned restaurants and shops Indulge in the grandeur of the Ebenezer Knight Dexter–John J. Stimson House (Rose Farm) and immerse yourself in the rich history and vibrant culture of Providence
