自我介绍

I am friendly, outgoing, enjoy meeting people and have been a host with Airbnb for over 7 years now. I have a spare room and need to find a way to support myself financially as I thought that I would be retiring but then the government changed the retirement age. So the two elements came together and I have been having some success at having guests stay and on the whole it has been a very enjoyable experience, not all guests leave a review and I have been host to more than 300 hundred guests so far. I'm a qualified librarian who worked in education for 23 years and in Public Libraries before that, a while ago I decided to take time out, to pursue other interests and to travel, (last trip was to Croatia with a Croatian friend). My last job was in marketing, working in the Canary Wharf Tower - Completely different from anything I've done before. I am Vegan and I also try to eat organically as much as my budget allows, a non-smoker, I enjoy different genres of music, films, visiting art galleries and markets with friends, reading is probably an obvious choice!, mainly crime and political thrillers. I love gardening and try every year to do something with my little back yard, growing Organic Veg and doing my best to encourage the bees and other wildlife. I enjoy walking and being by the coast, so being close to the docks is second best but it is a joy to be able to get a glimpse of the river every day and there are the canals close by as well. I do voluntary work and I'm involved with gardening / conservation projects locally and also I volunteer in a charity bookshop in Greenwich. I love to travel and have been to Australia several times, I've got good friends living there and I hope to go back there again. I've been to Canada, Egypt, parts of Europe and Cuba which was totally amazing.... I've been to other places as well. I'm happy to backpack or stay in b &b's etc. but even stayed in a 5 star hotel in Perth, WA which was lovely for a change... I've met many really interesting people, whilst being a host and if you have the space I would recommend giving it a go yourselves. As a host, I play it by ear and will adapt to the needs of my guests in as much as I will chat when you want me too and share cups of tea but I can work out if you just want to go to your room after a busy day or know to leave you in peace when you want to prepare and eat your meal. just as there will be times when I need to be left alone to get on with the things I want to do . The house is quite quirky and I am slowly de-cluttering as I have had a lot of things that I've acquired over the years as well as stuff that the kids have left behind but I'm getting it to look more how I want it to look but this isn't a Show Room House but a lived in home...
