We had a wonderful stay and the lighthouse was the perfect place for us to stay--I appreciate Jon and all that he did to make our stay wonderful. Louisville is a wonderful place to visit and we will be back!!

Every review says this, but truly no words to describe how special this place is. I live in the city of this Airbnb but this home always intrigued me as my dream home: it is that & way way more. The interior is a design dream, so very cool & from start to finish the design & decor boggles the mind. And the view!!!! Morning, noon & night. Herons, hawks & turtles right off the balcony. If you love barge traffic as I do, there’s an Ohio River app where you can track barge traffic . As an avid reader, I chose to sleep in the custom wall cutout beds w seafaring lighting. The Octopus sink was a marvel. An incredible stay from start to finish. I look for unusual Airbnb & trust me when I say, this one is perfection. W a very nice restaurant & bar right next door. If you are in a generous mood, you can rent the CQ Princess yacht boat docked right next door for a fun party at a reasonable cost. & kayak rentals right next door w a beautiful trail park up the road.

I cannot put into words how we loved the captains nest. the elevator is priceless for us old folks and even the young ones. The spacious great room with views of the mighty Ohio and the little houses across are lovely. Watching the barges go by was special for us desert (utah) rats. the home has a great feeling about it. The girls loved the queen cubbies while mom slept on the comfy cot upstairs. Of course us old folks took the huge main floor master suite. Communiation with Jon was extremely speedy and the manager, Judy , was most accommodating. The house is very clean and comfortable. There were some staples and plenty of dishes. Just like home. Shopping is just a few minutes away and restaurants even closer. The home is decorated as if someone is living in it, not like a vac rental, very thoughtful with little details, but not overdone. Yes it is pricey, but all worth it. Given the chance we would definitely stay again.

What an amazing place! Probably the coolest AirBNB we have stayed at. Great location - right on the river, with walking distance from a nice restaurant and bar. The Captain’s Nest is ver unique, excellently decorated, and super clean on check-in. One of the reviews I read, said “if it’s available, book it” - 100% agree. Jon was easy to communicate with, provide clear instructions, and made checkout easy. Absolutely loved staying there and the whole area is gorgeous and only 10-15 mins from downtown Louisville.
