I just had an amazing long weekend stay with the family at Kates place. Kate is an excellent host. She was very quick to respond to queries, was very helpful with local recommendations and was there to help if we needed anything. The house is in a very peaceful and scenic area with private access to the bay. its only a short drive to Westport town, Newport village and Croagh Patrick. The house was spotless and warm and the woodfire added a nice bit of charm to the evenings. The kids loved playing with the house pets and the 5 wk old pups nerve a special mention as the highlight of the stay for the kids. Overall I would highly recommend staying at Kates place.

Kate was lovely from the moment I first requested to stay in her home and she was even more lovely when we met. She was there to meet us, with a wonderful smile, even though we were well behind schedule. Kate's place is precisely as described and we felt at home straight away. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the fire in the evening but some of the best time we had was walking along the shore, or out onto the headland, surrounding her home. I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful the vistas are ... they need to be seen to be believed. We didn't have the best weather in the world when we were there [although perhaps not too bad for Co. Mayo :-)] but that didn't matter. It was just so restorative being there. Kate was never too far away if we needed to talk with her, but the space is still very private. I really recommend Clew Bay and Kate's home ... it is a very special place.

Apartamento con un emplazamiento fascinante para desconectar. No muy alejado de Westport, resulta ideal para alojarse en familia y disfrutar de todo lo que ofrece a su alrededor: el descubrir los caminos de la casa, interactuar con los animales de la zona, o simplemente relajarse. A destacar la calidez que nos ofrecieron tanto Kate como Milo, su hijo. El apartamento ofrecía muchas comodidades para la estancia y la disponibilidad y comunicación con el anfitrión fue perfecta. La construcción es relativamente reciente, por lo que todo está en muy buen estado. Dispones de botas de agua para poder caminar por los terrenos de la zona con toda tranquilidad; y qué decir de la chimenea... increíble poder encenderla en los días de frío y lluvia. Familia muy cercana, con la que pudimos intercambiar conversación. Un autentico Airbnb.

As we drove towards our place for the weekend we knew we had arrived someplace special when we were enjoying the beautiful scenery. Our accommodations were spectacular! 2 huge bedrooms with each having their own bathroom. A kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, beautiful cups, plates, silverware, everything needed to make meals. We feasted at the dining table on the pasta and sauce that we were able to easily make that was kindly left for us! There was also another treat that was a lovely surprise :) We relaxed in the living room on the comfy sofas with the option of lighting the wood burning stove but we were so comfortable and cosy, we enjoyed ourselves chatting and watching some Netflix. It was a perfect weekend!

Beautiful location! Perfect spot to unwind and spend time with my friend and her children. We loved the space - especially the art work and the decor. The children had a ball exploring the gardens and dock area. We’ll be back!
