We spent 2 very nice days in Zourva, in one of Nikos' house. The house is impeccable, very functional, spacious, nicely decorated, and impeccably clean and tidy. We enjoyed staying in this remote hamlet in the hills. Nikos has been very flexible in allowing us to shorten our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Niko was an attentive host and we appreciated his communication. We especially appreciated the option to check in early. The property itself is really beautiful, the pool and patio were a great place to relax, and we loved the wood accents and rustic stone. We walked to the taverns for food and to nearby trails. Everywhere we went accepts cards (or GoO0Oogle/Apple pay) but we got the impression that Emilia’s may prefer cash whenever possible. We also liked how quiet it was here while still being able to get to the city or other areas for hiking or sightseeing. We would definitely come stay here again if we came back to Crete.

We spent a lovely week in August at Apirithes in Zourva. The host Nikos was super helpful and the place itself was just stunning. It is clearly quite remote, in the mountains in the centre of Crete, but that is just what we were looking for. On the days that we ventured out to the beach, the journey was relatively quick (around 30 mins drive). Mostly, we hung out at the property or the nearby taverna, listening to the cicadas and the local goats! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, and the bedrooms are comfortable. The A/C works and the whole house was spotlessly clean. Agreat experience overall. If you are OK with being away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, and you just want some peace and quiet, I would highly recommend this property. Dave, Cambridge UK

This is a great location to be in the mountains of Crete. With a 30 to 40 minute drive to the beach. This mountain village has two lovely restaurants or taverns as they called them here. It’s a good location to do walks or hikes. But it requires a rental car. It’s a lovely accommodation with a gorgeous view. Highly recommended.
