A short stroll in either direction will find you at one of two pubs the village of Chideock has to offer The Clock Inn and The George Inn, both offering traditional pub food and ales.
Just a mile away is the beautiful beach at Seatown, predominately shingle with a shelving bank, it is great for those looking for a quiet spot to relax. Perched above the beach you can find the multi award-winning The Anchor Inn renowned for excellent seafood dishes with much of the produce caught locally. The location provides the perfect setting for eating out in the sunshine with Golden Cap to the west providing a magnificent backdrop.
The National Trust's Langdon Woods and Langdon Hill can be seen right from the cottage windows and make for a lovely walk, from here you can climb the famous Golden Cap – the highest point on the south coast with breathtaking panoramic views for miles.
Walkers are truly spoilt for choice in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you can pick up the coastal path, with footpaths covering miles of the beautiful coastline offering stunning views en route.
The well stocked Felicity's Farm Shop is a short drive and provides a variety of high quality, fresh and seasonal local produce.
Just a ten minute drive is Bridport, a thriving, quirky and cultural market town with a super reputation for its arts, culture, events and food. The town is a hive of activity with a mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
West Bay lies just a mile on from Bridport and is an attractive and bustling harbour village. From here you can explore the dramatic Jurassic coastline by boat, or try and catch your supper on a mackerel fishing trip!
The historic seaside town of Lyme Regis is well worth a visit and offers something for everyone, from its fascinating fossil heritage to its family friendly sandy beach and not forgetting the iconic Cobb and harbour.
The picturesque village of Abbotsbury has several attractions to visit, including a Swannery, where you can see mute swans on their nests, feed the cygnets and spot many common and rare visiting birds throughout the year. The award winning Subtropical Gardens makes for a lovely day out, the gardens showcase a mixture of formal and informal flowers with rare and exotic plants from all over the world. Stop off for homemade cake and tea from the garden coffee shop and visit the excellent plant centre, where many of the flowers grown in the gardens can be purchased.
