‘Sea Cottage’ is a much-loved family holiday home that has rewarded us with wonderful memories of holidays for 40 years! The house has been redefined, redesigned and refreshed over the years... Sea Cottage is a welcoming, relaxed and casual holiday home that is filled with light and space. Upstairs is a large family room with a balcony and sea views. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area that leads outside onto a large undercover patio and built-in braai. This courtyard is mostly wind-free and ideal for indoor/outdoor living. An added bonus is a large scullery that leads off the kitchen with a second fridge and ample cupboard and counter space. The entire house is available for guests except for a storeroom off the back patio. The house has six well-appointed bedrooms and sleeps 12 people. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the ground floor. Three bedrooms are queen bedded and en suite; two bedrooms have 2 single beds that can convert to 1 king if needed; and one bedroom is 2 singles. These three twin rooms share a full (bath; shower; basin; toilet) bathroom and there is also a separate toilet. All bedrooms are equipped with at least one of the sidelights being able to operate during load shedding. All linen and bath towels are provided, but guests are requested to please bring their own beach towels. This is a self-catering house and the kitchen is well equipped with the necessary appliances, crockery, cutlery, filter coffee machine, microwave, gas hob, electric oven etc. There is an outside braai with a braai grid and an inside fireplace for cold winter evenings. Wood is provided for your first braai/fire. Additional wood can be purchased locally. The house is serviced daily by the wonderful Lenie van der Watt, (who is also a wealth of local knowledge) and this is included in your rate. There is no servicing on Christmas Day, New Year's day, and Easter Sunday. There is a TV in the open plan downstairs area and in the family room upstairs. DStv is available on request. The property has safe off-street parking and security beams around the perimeter of the house that you can activate when out or asleep. We regret, no pets are allowed. We suggest you stock up before arriving as there are no supermarkets, ATM’s, or petrol stations in Arniston. There is a cafe at the hotel for the basics like bread, milk, ice creams, newspapers and wood.
