Bring your family to the mountains for a safe, family-friendly getaway! Enjoy the ease of vacation and comforts of home. The Guest House sleeps 6-8 people comfortably, with 2 bedrooms with King beds, 1 room with two Twin beds, and a sun room with convertible day-bed and trundle. Flip a switch and cozy-up by one of the two LP fireplaces! Enjoy happy hour on the front porch with view of the mountains and sheep in the pasture. Walk to the nearby swimming pond, sandbox, and berry patch. We love offering guests the comforts of home as you explore a new place. There is so much to see and do in the nearby area, we want the Guest House to feel like a comfortable retreat where you can recharge your batteries and reconnect with each other. At the center of the home is a full kitchen, which looks upon the sun room, dining area, and living room. Around the corner, the first floor bedroom offers a King bed and easy access for inter-generational groups. Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms, one with a King bed and the other with 2 Twin beds, making it an ideal family space. The sun room offers a bonus sleeping area, with a day bed and trundle that can serve as a King bed or 2 Twin beds. The open-concept living area makes it easy for everyone to find their separate corners to relax and offer a sense of togetherness. Xfinity Wi-Fi offers remote-work options. Cable TV and board games are provided. We have a steady alpine breeze but when needed, ceiling fans, window AC units, box fans, and solar heat/cooling pumps offer respite from the heat in the summer. Temperatures are usually in the 70s-90s. Swimming is available in the nearby swimming pond. Family friendly amenities include: Pack'n'Play sleeping unit, high chair, play yard, kiddie pool, water table, sand box, swing, slide, fenced back yard, etc. Kitchen amenities: pots and pans, toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, espresso machine, knives, cutting boards, spices, oils, dishware, etc. Bring your family to the mountains and enjoy the outdoors all around, with a book by the fireplace in the sun room or taking in the mountain views from the front porch, double chaise lounge, hammock or swing chair. Take a walk down the country road and pick berries along the way. Visit the sheep and chickens, swim in the pond or enjoy a bonfire at the fire circle. We look forward to having you!

This was one of our favorite places that we have stayed. BEAUTIFUL scenery, adorable sheep, lovely house, and the nicest hosts. We came to ski Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. The weather didn’t quite cooperate, but we enjoyed ourselves despite the rain…and were able to squeeze in a couple of days on the slopes when the weather finally cleared. One point to be clear, the road up to the house can be rough if there is some rain…make sure you have a vehicle with some clearance and 4-wheel drive. This house will be the first place we look next time we come up!!
We loved spending a week at Carin & Luke’s house. Peaceful, picturesque Vermont surroundings, but still easy to find and have access to nearby towns for groceries or restaurants. We went snowboarding at Sugarbush a few of the days during our stay which is a beautiful 30 minute drive away. The house was pristine and had a nice selection of games and a fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds made for a great sleep. Overall just a wonderful stay. We would certainly return again.
This is a beautifully and thoughtfully curated property. It flows well and accommodated our entire family of 6 adults plus a baby. Luke and Carin were gracious hosts and very communicative. Beautiful views, a cozy and welcoming spot and very central to so many other places we got to visit. Great internet connection that allowed our daughter to continue working remotely while we visited. The sheep in the pasture at the front were a delightful bonus and we luckily got to see them sheared. Great showers with plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Comfy beds and couches. We will be re-booking for our next trip in 2024.
Amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better family vacation home. Our young kids got to have a quintessential summer break exploring nature, swimming holes, lots of ice cream, and lots of outdoor playing. This beautiful home atop a hill in the mountains is private, peaceful, and a great home base for everything we wanted to do. As lovely as the photos in the listing are, nothing compares to the real thing. We sat on the porch daily to watch the sheep, hummingbirds, and deer, gaze at the incredible mountain views, and recharge. A well-stocked kitchen, spacious enough for remote work while the kids played without interruption, well-appointed and thoughtful decor and furniture, and internet that is super fast for simultaneous videoconferencing and streaming tv. While the house and location were perfect for us, Carin and Luke are real pros at hosting, attentive, generous, and focused on ensuring their guests have a great time. We have stayed in many places and they set a new standard!

The Guest House is located at the end of a country road, with 70 acres of mountains, meadows and woodlands around. Your neighbors are a flock of 15 sheep! We ask that you please drive slowly on the road, so we can maintain the respect of our neighbors.
You will want to have access to a personal vehicle, preferably with 4WD and snow tires (in the winter). Parking in or outside of the garage is available for 1-2 vehicles.
There is great walking, hiking and cycling nearby.
