Although a nice accommodation, we were a bit disappointed by the facilities during our holiday. The location was great, with nice nearby towns to visit by car and equally lovely walks on the doorstep. The accommodation was well presented and more or less clean, but smelt of and shows signs of damp. You MUST request high chair/travel cot before your stay. This isn't clear in the advert and is buried in the small print of a contract sent shortly before your stay. We had two children under 2 years old, and had outlined this in our booking request, but neither of these items were available because we hadn't specifically booked them despite being included in the advert. Also the bedroom with twin beds does not have enough floor space to add a travel cot. Although I spoke to both Herdwicks and the owner, I sensed a lack of ownership from either regarding maintenance and provision. This meant I could flag issues, but not necessarily have them addressed during our stay which was a shame.

A lovely homely cottage with fantastic facilities within. The cottage was very clean on arrival and instantly felt homely. All facilities worked, including some speedy internet that allowed us to binge some Netflix on the evening. The cottage felt light and airy, but cosy at the same time. We all felt comfortable and the area was lovely and quiet, but with plenty to do around and about. Thank you.

Terri’s house is bright and clean with everything we need. We had a good time there. Definitely recommended. The only thing that bothered us is the black flies. Something much smaller than mosquitos but created worse reactions on skins. We couldn’t sleep well because of this.
