We had many complaints, during our stay, that we didn't address while on vacation because we wanted to try to enjoy our vacation and not dwell on the negatives. The place is in a great location. However, the inside of our unit was not clean. Our feet were black after walking across the tile floor and there was dried feces, of some sort, on the floor when we arrived, telling me that part of the floor wasn't cleaned at all. The beds were like sleeping directly on boxsprings. The floor mats in the bathroom and kitchen hadn't been washed in who knows how long. There was a broken tile on the kitchen counter( very sharp) and buckled tiles(tripping hazard) in the main walking path through the unit. The outdoor trash receptacles were full when we arrived and weren't emptied until the end of the week that we left so there wasn't anywhere to put our trash for six days of our stay. We were also notified that a refrigerator would be delivered one day. The one that was there was outdated but worked fine. We were contacted the day of delivery and asked to "please be home at the time of delivery". What?? I found that very inappropriate to say to a guest that is paying a substantial amount of money to stay there and is obviously out doing things to enjoy their vacation. We weren't able to be there because we had made plans for that day. The delivery people left our bagged ice and frozen fishing bait in the sink, instead of putting it back in the freezer. We have date and time stamped pics of everything because, after we noticed the first few things, we figured it would probably be a good idea. There were other little things too but, for the amount that is charged for this unit, the things we already listed are beyond frustrating. When we returned home, we contacted the company to see if they were willing to do anything to try to make things right and have basically been told that we arrived too early(Check-in is at 5pm and we arrived around 6pm) and that we didn't seem to have a problem with the refrigerator being delivered. We weren't asked if it was ok, they told us it was being delivered. We didn't realize that we had a choice. We didn't complain about the dirty floors and floor mats while we were there because it was easier to wipe things down and throw the mats in the closet than to have random people in our space cleaning, on our time. In the communications that we have had since our vacation, we have been told that we should've called to have someone clean and that we arrived at 1:30 while the cleaning crew was still there(absolutely untrue we arrived at 6pm) so we should've said something then and that we could've used the icemaker on the freezer to make ice or they offered to bring us a bag of ice the next day. We bought bagged ice because we didn't want ice made from the water there and it's easier to buy a new bag of ice than to make a phone call and wait for someone to show up with a bag of ice. The point is, when you pay this kind of money to stay somewhere and you're paying cleaning fees and other fees, these things shouldn't be an issue. One thing here and there is one thing but to have multiple issues, it does become a problem. Hopefully they can make some repairs, updates, and employ better cleaning practices so that others will have a better experience than we did. Oh, and you might want to check daily to see if the pool people have been there to treat the pool(because they don't notify you in any way) so that you don't get chemical irritation/burn(that happened to one of us) from swimming in the pool that you likely paid extra for. We have stayed in multiple Airbnbs and other similar rentals and this is, by far, the most expensive and the only one that we have had any problems with.
