The accomodation we booked was already occupied when we arrived; disappointing after a difficult 9 hour drive to say the least; staff at Sodwana Bay Lodge (unaffliliated to this booking agent's accomodation but key holders) were extremely embarrassed and explained this happens often; they found us an alternative, which was not what I had booked and looked forward to. It was expensive for what it was: we were given one key to a broken lock mechanism (which they fixed on day 2), there was no hot water until I complained bitterly about on day two (for which they "borrowed" a gas bottle from another house, which ran out and we replaced), no working oven, no working safe; kitchen cupboards and drawers which were extremely hard to open. A gas leak somewhere which made sitting on the patio almost impossible.

This is a fairly comfortable place in a very rustic seaside town. It has been recently renovated and there are some teething problems. Overall, better than what we have seen in other places in the same town.
