Accessing such a remote location surrounded by ancient sequoias was an unforgettable experience. While the remote location lacked cell coverage, adding to its allure, we found the cabin comfortable and cozy. Initially, I was hesitant to book this Airbnb due to a negative review mentioning cheap furniture. As a lover of unique and special Airbnb stays, I was concerned about comfort and aesthetics. While the finishes appeared inexpensive, the cabin itself was a dream. I can't express enough how much we loved it; I'll definitely return and recommend it to all my friends. The only downside was the handwritten Wi-Fi password as it was challenging to decipher, leading to unsuccessful connection attempts despite many many tries with different combinations. There were 3 other wifi options provided but they didn't work either and communication with the owner was slow. These minor inconveniences, however, don't overshadow the cabin's charm, making it a 100% recommendation.
Very beautiful surroundings, easily accessible from Monterey area. Unit needs TLC and updating.
This AirB&B is fantastic! It’s located in a very peaceful location in the woods about 10 minutes off highway 1 and 30 minutes south of Monterey. We loved being in the woods and disconnected from the outside world. The main source of heating was a wood fire (there is also a small electric heater) and it made the cabin feel really warm and cosy. The AirB&B was really clean. There is a small kitchen with gas oven and four ring stove which was good for cooking a couple of evening meals.
Magical forest drive from the coast, Palo Colorado canyon is a well-established residential area with many multi-generational families. A paved narrow and winding road, with turns around the redwoods. A beautiful 20-minute drive to both Carmel and Big Sur (good traffic) two miles north of Bixby Bridge. Fantastic star gazing on clear nights and owl song most evenings year-round.
