We (couple, 3 children (6,4,1)) had a really nice time at Vaiyannas garden house, and would definitely recommend it. Inside has everything you need and more to keep the children entertained, but also all the things you might need in the kitchen or others wise. If theres anything you need Maria will provide it as quick as possible. Outside is even better; the children have a very safe space to play because the garden is enclosed , there are nice spots to sit and relax, and you can hear the birds and the sea . The beach is just a few minutes away on foot. The family restaurant offers great dishes and really nice people. Maria and her family are very friendly and always ready to help out or give advice on trips without being obtrusive. All in all, if you’re traveling with children, this is definitively a wonderful place to stay

Without a doubt the best AirBnb we have stayed in for years. Maria and her family are extremely accomodating and welcoming. The family-run taverna nextdoor offers great traditional food at beautiful place. The place is spacious, the garden is taken care off and this place is packed with toys, puzzles etc next to the playground. Beach is also a 2 minute walk. Highly recommended for people with kids that seek a private place in a lovely environment.

Wij zijn op een lange reis met ons gezin en deze accommodatie is de beste zover!! Twijfel je nog na het zien van de foto’s? Dan neem ik hierbij je twijfel graag weg en ik zeg doen. Het huis is super schoon, alles wat je nodig hebt is er en veel speelgoed. Wij hebben twee kinderen van 2&5 jaar en in Griekenland vind je moeilijk een huis wat warm en huiselijk is en toegankelijk voor kinderen. Onze kinderen hebben zich uren kunnen vermaken met al het speelgoed in huis en tuin, kind blij is ouder blij. Ook taverne Captain Nicolas op 10 meter afstand, met eten wat met liefde wordt bereidt en dat proef je. Kinderen slapen, babyfoon aan en samen met je lief hier hapje eten, dit soort momenten samen ga je waarderen als je kinderen hebt. Loopafstand (3 min) van een strand met restaurant (mwah) Rijafstand (10 min) van Lixouri stad. Je zit hier in de rust, natuur en kan makkelijk de drukte opzoeken. Super vriendelijke mensen, je wordt warm ontvangen. Wij danken Maria en familie voor alles!

We would highly recommend staying here. Maria was an excellent host who went above and beyond (cooking for us, stocking up the fridge, fresh bread and fruit, even ice creams). Maria and her family were very welcoming. The house is perfect for families with small children, so many toys and play equipment that our 4 and 1 year old loved! Beach just minutes walk away and the main town (with all of the amenities needed) about a 15 minute drive away (you will need a car). We enjoyed just spending time at the property as well as exploring Kefalonia, which we loved.

We are a family with a 5-year-old child and we had a really great stay at Vayianna’s Garden House in September 2022. The house is well designed and carefully maintained. Everything we needed for a week was there and worked well: from the laundry machine to the cappuccino milk frother. There is also a TV but we didn’t turn it on: the large window next to it was offering the perfect view all the time. One of the most relaxing features for us was the absence of “city noises”. Crickets, roosters, maybe an airplane high above, someone working in a garden below the hill - those are about all the sounds of the area. Oh, and the geese strolling on the bank of the small river below :) We have had complete privacy too. The property is part of a larger area owned by Maria’s family, so there are no neighbours and no traffic. (Speaking of traffic, you will need a car to get to Vayianna’s Garden House and to visit beaches other than Vatsa. The public transport on the island seems to lack in its western part…) Named for Maria’s younger daughter, Vayianna’s Garden House is perfect for kids. Almost half the courtyard is a playground with so many toys that on one of the last days our daughter decided that “we’re not going to the beach today, there are still too many toys here I didn’t play with yet!”. She instantly bonded with Maria’s older son: same age, no common language, but it was all fun, running, and laughter whenever they met. They played together almost every evening when we went for dinner at the family’s taverna nearby. The reviews here already speak very highly about Maria, but still, we were surprised and delighted about how warmly she and her husband, Andreas, received us. From the first moment we met to the goodbye hugs one week later, they put a lot of soul into making us feel at home. Here are just 3 examples that we will keep in our hearts for a long time. In a message exchange before arriving, I asked Maria about shops open late on Saturday on our route from the airport - to buy breakfast stuff. She said “don’t worry” and stocked the fridge with enough food, not for one, but three mornings. Our daughter lost her ring in the sea when we went for our first swim after arriving. Maria saw she was sad, asked what happened and on the last day she gave her a surprise goodbye gift: a new ring. When they showed us the place, Maria invited us to pick anything we want from the garden. I replied politely “thanks, maybe we will get a couple of tomatoes, they look really good”. “No, no, take all you need: that’s why we have gardens, for sharing!” she said, which I will remember forever. Thank you, Maria! When you read this please say hello to Andreas from us. And hug your mother and grandmother: we already miss their fantastic food!
