Exceeded expectations. Great apartment in a fantastic location, and Iri truly was a superhost!

Iri JardimApril 2024 GREAT: Iri is the most helpful Airbnb host we have ever encountered Our apartment (Block 5, 3F) is very well appointed with great sea views from bedroom and living room AREA: From the complex's exit it's only a 3 minute walk to the Continente, a really excellent supermarket, high quality and low prices. Also a 3m walk to the Antica Roma, a great family Italian restaurant (see Google ratings). It's an easy ½-hour walk east to the Lido area Right outside the complex exit is the #1 bus stop, which will take you anywhere on the way into Funchal for just under €2 FEATURE: exiting the complex on foot involves walking up a quite steep 100m driveway (about 1:5 gradient). We're in our mid-70's but acclimatized quickly! Our particular apartment is still lower down, involving ~30 stairs. With a wheeled cart (bought from Lido Pingo Doce supermarket) it's no problem descending Below the pool is undeveloped scrubland (April 2024)behind the beach, but the rest of view is great

Iri was a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful! She met me for check-in to make sure I had all of the instructions, and I was also able to check in a bit early once the apartment was ready. My favorite part about the apartment was the amazing view of the ocean! It was convenient to do my laundry with the in-unit washer. A parking space is included, which is helpful if you have a car. Iri gave some great restaurant recommendations. On of my favorites was Doca do Cavacas, I got a spot overlooking the water at sunset on the roof and it was beautiful. The apartment is a bit outside the old town, but there is a bus stop on the block that will get you back and forth within about 20-25 minutes. Thank you for a great stay in Madeira!

What a great host. Iri met us upon our arrival and showed us where everything was located. She had a list made up for us of recommended restaurants and where we could get the bus if we wanted to take it into town. The unit was very clean and had everything that we needed. We could walk to the boardwalk. The only comment I would like to say is if you don’t have a car and have some mobility issues, this unit may not be best suited for you. It was a fair climb to walk up to the street and also walk down to the boardwalk and get back up. We did not have any problems with this but we don’t have health concerns. Grocery stores and good restaurants were within walking distance. Would highly recommend. Barb
