The village hosts regular events, each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season and a firework display at New Year. Aberfeldy is only a 20-minute drive and has many local independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a cinema, a whisky distillery and an award-winning book shop. Take a Highland safari, a great way to explore the mountains, and spot local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles. This area has many historic buildings, castles and gardens which you can visit and discover the rich history of the area. There are ample opportunities for walking and routes for all abilities, with the Ben Lawers 7 Munro circuit within 10 miles. Drummond Hill is close by and has some great walking routes to view points where you can see some of the most spectacular scenery.
