This lovely house, formerly the home of society shoe designer, Oliver Sweeney, sits at the top of the quaint hilltop village of Hennock, near Bovey Tracey. With distant views over the valley and beyond, the enormous and fully fenced garden is sheltered, private and very secluded, and has many Mediterranean plants including palm trees, olives and figs. And if the weather isn't beautiful enough for sunbathing, the sitting room has a massive CuddleMuffin sofa, flat screen TV and wood burning stove The house has recently been renovated, and has three bedrooms (two super King, and one King), and three bathrooms, two of which are en suite. The downstairs is open plan with the kitchen leading to the dining room, then sitting room (with new huge extra wide Loaf, Cuddlemuffing sofa and wood burning stove), then out onto the terrace with a BBQ, and the outdoor dining room, and the glorious garden. The master suite opens on to the roof terrace which has spectacular views and has a huge canopy day bed, perfect for snoozing, meditation or evening drinks. All bedrooms and the sitting room have smart TV's (with Netflix, Amazon Prime etc) and there is superfast wifi throughout.

Well what can I say… the minute we walked in we were delighted, it’s so refreshing to walk into a place that looks just like the photos, but better. Heather (Isadora’s Mum) hosted us and gave us such a lovely, warm welcome, she is an absolute delight, such a kind, wonderful friendly lady who is a shining star! The 6 of us and Stan our greyhound loved staying at Longlands it was beautiful inside and out, had fantastic views, was very clean, had very comfy beds (we all slept very well) and it was just so peaceful. We went to The Palk Arms where the locals were just so friendly, we also booked Victoria (private chef) and went to her beautiful home (The Old Thatch) for divine home cooked Italian food, it dosen’t come any better than the food Victoria made for us. Victoria and her husband Fab were again so friendly and welcoming. Heather and Hennock village are the friendliest, kindest people and we have found some lovely new friends We really didn’t want to leave and will certainly return
What a gem of a find ! Heather was a fabulous host - really welcoming and made us feel right at home instantly. Gave us a super recommendation to join the Wednesday night Palk Arms quiz which was great fun with yummy food & wine choices too. The house was gorgeous - just as described and had really good WiFi for work needs. We’ll be back again for sure - thanks again Heather ! X
A fabulous place for our special family celebration. Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Heather is truly delightful and gave us a lovely warm welcome, showing us around, always on hand if needed. The house was perfect for six adults. The open plan downstairs is a fantastic space (even bigger than in photos!) with stunning views over the garden. The sofa is enormous, woodburner cosy in the evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. Upstairs is just as wonderful: the master bedroom is particularly stunning with huge windows which perfectly frame the beautiful garden and surrounding countryside and a large balcony. The ensuite bathroom is sumptuous! Everything is spotlessly clean and beautifully designed. Heather kindly provided extra chairs for our guests so there was space for ten to eat! We were blessed with the sun so we made lovely memories on the wonderful patio/garden. A weekend of joy in a v special place. Thank you Heather. We'd love to come back
Such a beautiful, peaceful holiday home. Very comfortable, and amazing views from upstairs bedrooms for miles and miles.
We had a fantastic weekend staying at Isadoras beautiful Devonshire property. Hosted by Isadoras Mum, Heather, who was just delightful. Explained everything so clearly, was always around if we needed anything but never imposing. She even brought us new logs for the log burner, which was a real surprise, and so cosy. Made loafing on the amazing sofa a real treat. The bedrooms are all fabulous but the Master is a real treat. The perfect place to relax and read a book looking out at the beautiful views whilst sitting in a comfy recliner. We had both of our dogs with us who were equally welcomed, and they settled right in too. We visited the local pub, The Palk Arms, a 2 minute walk from the property and had a lovely pub meal on the Saturday evening. The locals are very friendly and the village felt very safe. This was a great find and we would recommend to anyone staying here. Thanks again, we loved our stay.

Hennock is a small Village situated 600 feet above sea level on the south side of the beautiful Teign Valley in Devon, England, it is reputed to have one of the best views in Devon. Owing to the village being constructed in a kilometre long ribbon along the contour line almost every house in the village has a view over the valley below. It has a great local pub less than 150 yards away (with yummy food and real ale), and great walking around the moors.
