我们也许从未相识,但希望我的房源能让旅行中的你卸去疲惫,像在自己家一样温暖舒适。
Great host. We stayed at the rental for over a month and did not have any issues. Very active and responsive. Will be our first choice if we return to the area.
The house is close to the town's main streets and parks/trails nearby. It was great we could bring our dog! Jean is great, very responsive, a long-term resident of the area. We will return!
Jean was an amazing hostess. Lots of enthusiasm for the area. She went above and beyond to send me a pair of shoes I left behind. Definitely recommend staying here.
Great location in Crosby! Walk to brewery, restaurants and ride to trail. Simple accommodations- but all you need.
BAIT AND SWITCH It is our opinion that our host Jean pulled a bait and switch on us. When she realized that our dates were for the summer nationals and rentals were going for $350 to $400 per night, she could rent out our original location “Trail Side Time Two” for a much greater price than what we had paid several months in advance. Then on August 17th she knows we can’t find a room and offers her cabin, but still takes our money through an “accidental” double listing of the same property. Our story. We were in the Brainerd MN area for the NHRA Summer Nationals for drag racing. We were supposed to have Trailside Time 2 in Crosby MN for the nights of Friday August 20, Saturday, August 21, and August22, checking out on the morning of August 23rd. The NHRA Summer Nationals is a very large event and every room within 60+ miles is booked months in advance. There were several things wrong with this (the worst Airbnb experience by far) stay. I sent a message to our host Jean asking if there was a chance we could come Friday. Jean asked if we were part of a race team or just enjoying the races. She then asked me to rebook for Friday night. I sent an image of the booking screen showing Friday was blocked off. She said she would “take a look” at it and see what she could do to unlock the dates. She then told me to try again. I notified her that when I rebooked, I noticed that the screen stated 1 person but it we be my wife and I, Jean stated that they would welcome us both. There was some small talk back and forth between us that didn’t involve our stay. On August 16th at 10:48 PM I got the following message. “Jean10:48 PM Paul, we don’t know how this happened but I seem to have double booked Trailside Time Two. I wanted to add pictures to the site but accidentally added a duplicate listing. I’ve got a solution if you approve. I would host you at my two bedroom cabin on Blackhoof Lake - one mile west of Ironton - it has a new shower/toilet and sink - very tiny but very cozy. There’s a large fireplace and nice comfy furniture. There’s a fridge, sink and freezer and a table and bar chairs as well. If you’re ok with this, I can give you directions to the cabin. Or you could cancel and I would refund your fee. Would you like to see pictures of the cabin? Please let me know.” Jean’s daughter sent photos and it looked OK. I replied that “it looks like there is AC”. I stated that Jeans solution was acceptable, because our alternative was to drive back and forth between Fargo ND and Brainerd MN, (138 miles one way) each day for the races because there were no other rooms to be had and Jean knew this. She knew she had us over a barrel. It was pretty much a take it or leave it choice. The amenities that Jean listed in her description of her solution were blatant lies. The shower/toilet and sink were not new. They were stained and nasty, looked nothing like the photos that were sent to me. The “comfy furniture” turned out to be a loveseat that was broken on our arrival and a couch that also was not comfy. It was not a two bedroom. The 2nd “bedroom” was a storage area with walls that were insulated but no wall covering. At 9:10 AM on August 17th Jean sent Directions to this alternative to our original booking. At 9:15 I asked if I needed to rebook through AirBNB. Jean9:39 AM “You could but I’d have to relist the cabin and we’re on vacation and someone else might pop in as I have instant book. So if you do want to list on Airbnb, let me know and I can try to do that after I’m back from vacation tomorrow. Oh, I wanted to say that it’s a big race weekend and I’ve heard that every place is booked so I hope you feel like we’re taking care of you. I have a dock and one kayak you could use.” DO NOT ever agree to a room change outside of AirBNB with a host. Jean’s daughter Katherine 3:26 PM “Hi Paul! Jeans daughter Katherine We put a new air conditioner in the window because we couldn’t get the old one out (this one isn’t a perfect fit, as you’ll see) , we are under a thunder storm watch now so you can remove it if you start to hear bad weather if you want. This is the info for the wifi log in — also feel free to enter the green cabin, that’s where your room and bathroom will be. We share our yard with a woman named Marilyn - she’s fine! Please let me know through the app if you need anything tonight or anything at all during your trip, including shampoo, soap, toothbrush, or toothpaste I’d be happy to buy some! Also I believe there’s towels there but if there aren’t I’ll pick some clean ones up from one of our units from you. The cabin is beautiful this time of year and you’re welcome to the lake! I hope all this information helps!!!!” On our arrival at the cabin, it smelled musty, it was dark and dingy, and there was a very small window AC unit that was not properly installed. The screen had not been removed from the window and the AC unit was sitting on the windowsill virtually doing nothing because on the sides of the AC, it was open to the outside through the screen. I removed the AC unit and removed the screen and installed the AC into the window opening properly in hopes of the temperature being bearable for sleeping.
