This 2-person holiday home for adults (18+) with large private roof terrace is located on the first floor in the middle of small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. In the past, this part of the house - situated above a grocery shop and café that were housed in the quinta - was occupied by the women of the house. It was a place to rest after a busy day in the shop. Now it is a lovely home to spend your holidays and to enjoy the view from the terrace with a nice cool drink. General information about the accommodation (adults-only 18+): Small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota, situated between fruit, almond and olive groves in the countryside of the beautiful Eastern Algarve and close to the beach (4km, Fuseta), offers 4 spacious holiday homes in an authentic Portuguese farmhouse, where persons from 18 years can stay with us. In this way we offer a place to people who want peace and quiet without children. The houses are suitable for 2 adults. The quinta has recently been renovated (2020) and the houses are very comfortable in every season and smoke- and pet-free. Information about this 2 person holiday home 'Casa Descansa' (40m2): You enter the holiday home via a private staircase to the first floor of the quinta. The house has a semi-open layout: living room, sleeping area and kitchen are connected, but are somewhat separated by a small height difference, open archways and staggered walls. This gives both an intimate and spacious feeling. You enter the living room, which is tastefully and comfortably furnished with a fixed corner sofa and armchair and a window overlooking the roof terrace. Through a large arched passage with a small step you enter the spacious sleeping area, with storage space for clothes, personal belongings and suitcases. Of course, there is a nice bed with good mattresses (2 beds of 90x200cm, together a king-size double bed - with connecting thin mattress - or apart if desired). From the bed you can see the sun rise through two sliding doors (to the roof terrace). From the sleeping area you walk through a small open passageway to the kitchen, with plenty of storage space and various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. In the kitchen there is a small dining table and a window overlooking the roof terrace. Adjacent to the kitchen is the enclosed bathroom with toilet, spacious walk-in shower, washbasin and towel radiator. There is also a small window for ventilation. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are available. For both cooling and heating of the house an air conditioner with cold / heat exchanger is available (no extra costs). All windows in the house have double insulated glass and mosquito nets. Adjacent to the house is a large roof terrace for own use, with lots of privacy and various seating and relaxation areas, lots of plants and wide views over the farmland. The terrace offers sun and shade in every season. Communal garden: In our sloping Mediterranean garden (5000m2) which is playfully and attractively decorated, you can enjoy different colours and flowering plants and (fruit) trees in every season. To cool down, there is an outdoor shower and a lovely swimming pool surrounded by flowering plants, olive and almond trees. There are several relaxation areas created to be able to retreat into the sun as well as the shade, and to enjoy a snack and a drink alone or together with other guests, listening to the birds and the cicadas. The sunrises and sunsets and clear starry skies are often a pleasure to watch. Surroundings: The beach of the lively fishing village Fuseta is nearby (3km). From here, and also from the beautiful coastal towns of Tavira and Olhão (both 15 minutes' drive), there are boat connections to the paradise islands off the coast. The beautiful nature reserve Ria Formosa, with salt production, lagoons and many birds, is very close (2km) and offers many walking and cycling opportunities. There are also lots of nice restaurants, various shops, supermarkets and places of interest at a short distance. The nearest restaurant is a 20-minute walk away.
