Fantastic stay at 2 Sweden Bank! Lovely views from bedrooms and lounge of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. House was comfortable and had everything we needed apart from a working toaster. Even though informed of this I didn't get a replacement before the end of our stay. However this was the only problem as everything else worked smoothly and was as described in the photos and descriptions. Nice patio area for BBQs. Could do with some hooks for coats! We did many walks right from our front door, no need to drive anywhere. It was a perfect location for us. Also walked into Ambleside a lot, for restaurants and to go to the bakery! Yum. Thank you for a comfortable stay!

The house was delightful: comfortable and a high standard of care and furnishings throughout. There’s a really restful feel about the place, which feels private and quiet, yet has the convenience of being a short walk from the centre of Ambleside. It is a beautiful property. The mattress in the master was quite hard, especially compared with the singles, which were really comfy! Most frustrating was the lack of internet. It was Friday afternoon before we had access (relying on an extension cable and the modem left in the doorway to the front room) having reported it on arrival on Saturday. We discovered this had been an ongoing issue for a while and felt let down by the known lack of access to an advertised facility and lack of urgency in addressing it (regardless of the fact that maintenance visited to try and resolve it a couple of times before Friday). However, the response midweek to leaky/blocked guttering that was pouring against the front door was immediate and effective.

Loved our stay in Ambleside and can’t wait to come back. The private garden and view of the village and lake are amazing here. Our only issues with the rental were a missing hair dryer and wifi that we couldn’t get to work. Our hosts did have a hair dryer delivered, and we lived without the wifi. The location was great and we loved being able to walk into town. Loved the well stocked kitchen that felt very clean. We would definitely stay here again!
