Stayed at Sunset House and Farm in early May and enjoyed our stay. The view from the balcony is stunning, and within our first ten minutes I had seen a toucanette, motmots, emerald hummingbird, and nearly a dozen other species, as well as zipliners shooting across the treetops a bit higher up the valley. The sounds and scents of the forest are intoxicating. Overall, this is a quiet and very peaceful place, close enough to the center of Santa Elena to get easily to attractions, activities, and amenities, but you may want a 4WD vehicle to get to your parking place. The biggest drawback is the lack of screens on doors and windows – while out for the day, it’s necessary to close up the house which was extremely hot inside on return. Only way to cool the house down is to return before dark and open all windows to air it out, because once night falls the house fills with insects if lights are on, but as a result I found a scorpion in my bedroom.

La cabaña que nos alojamos estaba literalmente sobre el bosque con unas vistas impresionantes. Respecto a la ubicación el GPS nos mandó a otro lugar Tuve una mala experiencia porque encontre un escorpión negro sobre la cama , revisen bien el lugar , pero lo demás muy bien

Beautiful and cozy airbnb. We spent a lot of time on the deck, which was ideal for birdwatching. We even saw a toucanette ! Large bathrooms with hot water.
