Pukaki Air Lodge is a Bed and Breakfast hotel situated adjacent to the runway at Pukaki Airfield and the Alps-to-Ocean cycle trail. The lodge is incorporated into our hangar where our Nanchang aircraft lives. Viewing of aircraft is available on request. The private superior en-suite rooms have fabulous views views of the Mackenzie Basin and Aoraki Mt Cook in the North. The Lodge is built right at the end of the Pukaki Airport Runway, so those who are interested in aviation have a perfect vantage point from which to watch take-offs and landing of the aircraft that use the airfield by day. There are often light aircraft, and biplanes and your hosts own Nanchang Warbird flying around. Guests can take joyrides or scenic flights in some of these aircraft giving further unique views of the mountains and many surrounding lakes. By night, with no traffic or light pollution the clear views of the brilliant stars of the Mackenzie dark sky reserve can be gazed at in absolute peace and tranquillity. Our Family/Accessible room accommodates 1-4 people. This spacious room offers a private accessible ensuite bathroom and easy access to the common kitchen/dining area and the outdoor veranda – a great place to relax on a hot summers evening, or to watch the brilliant night skies. This room is equipped with one Queen bed and 2 King-Single beds. All linen and towels are provided along with free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, fridge, kettle and dining table.
