Glynarthen · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室4床2.0卫 · 可住4人 · Charming Victorian cottage near Cardigan Bay
This late Victorian detached cottage is located 4 miles inland from the superb beaches of Llangrannog and Penbryn in a rural setting looking southwards over the Ceri Valley. Built in 1899, Dryslwyn is situated above its own wild meadow, a rural haven of peace and tranquility in the heart of Ceredigion. The blue cottage has just been entirely renovated with underfloor heating, two wood burning stoves, double glazing and insulation of the walls. It has been redecorated to maintain its Victorian character including William Morris wallpaper, whilst offering all the modern comforts. On the ground floor is a well equipped open plan kitchen/diner - with dishwasher, washing machine, electric hob with oven, toaster, and fridge freezer – the dining room has a log stove, table and chairs. There is a small hall giving access to a front porch, living room and staircase. The ground floor also gives access to the terrace from the living room with sofa, television, log stove and French doors, which overlook a garden and wild meadow beyond. On the first floor is a small landing and plant room airing cupboard, leading into two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a Victorian bed and overlooks the meadow with a Juliet balcony. The attached master bathroom has a steel bath, WC, basin and radiator. There is also a small landing with an airing cupboard. The second bedroom has a zip bed which can be a king size bed (150 x 190 cm) for a couple or two single beds for children and an attached shower room with WC and basin. There is an air source heat pump outside in the garden. There is a large garden with access to the meadow beyond. The outhouse is currently used for storage. Please read carefully other details to note and "additional rules" about the hot tub before booking
Dryslwyn is in a stunning location. Surrounded by fields where you can watch foxes, rabbits and red kites. I had a peaceful and comfortable stay. The kitchen was well equipped and it was lovely having underfloor heating on the colder mornings. Cardigan is only 20 mins away and there are several beautiful beaches nearby. Charles was a friendly and responsive host.
We absolutely loved our stay, it was very homely. The hosts were welcoming and responsive. The area was beautiful, would definitely return!!
Thank you Charles & Ann! Such a gorgeous place, from the lovely decoration and detail inside, to the beautiful surroundings! A perfect peaceful home from home. The combination of wood burners & a hot tub is ideal for the current weather! We had a great break and hope to return to enjoy this idyllic stay in the summer too!
This house is charming and comfortable and peaceful. Ideal if you have dogs for easy clean floor. Hot tub and log burners a huge bonus. Good spot for exploring Cardigan. Charles was very communicative. Would highly recommend 😁
As described. Peaceful, pristine, well-equipped. Two decent sized beds each with attached private en suite. Well-stocked kitchen, and plenty of seating options. Very very remote which is only a good thing. Not mentioned on the listing is the gigabit fibre internet (bonus) and the fact that when the sky is clear, the stars shine super bright (even more bonus!)
The Ceredigion coast can be explored from this charming base located four miles from the sandy beaches of Llangrannog and Penbryn. Cardigan Bay is an outstanding and internationally important area for marine wildlife sheltering some of Britain's rarest birds and marine life, home numerous bottlenose dolphins as well as porpoises and grey seals. Walking on the beautiful heritage coastal path gives you an ideal opportunity to see the abundance of wildlife or get up close and personal with the marine life on daily boat trips from New Quay.
Dryslwyn is an ideal location for exploring the Ceredigion coastline dotted with villages, small port and harbour towns all with a rich seafaring history. The picturesque market towns of Cardigan and Aberaeron offer a wealth of products with some of Wales finest foods, a good range of eateries and lots of fine period architecture including Cardigan's newly renovated castle.
Inland is the beautiful Teifi valley and its tributaries. Dylan Thomas knew the area well.
You will need a car. Parking can be busy on the coast in the summer. You can walk or cycle, although there are some steep hills. There is a bus service (Cardi Bach) linking coastal villages.
