The place was nice and quiet. Hiking trails were only a block away and were great adventure in the snow. It took a bit for the place to warm up, but once it did, it was wonderfully cozy. The place is located between Tahoe city and Kings Beach so we had a lot of options for groceries, restaurants, or things to do. Host was very responsive and loved that they were able to accommodate our pet.

I am giving this place 4 out of 5 stars. Pluses: The place was clean, cute, and cozy. I especially appreciated the bed and the bedding, which was awesome. The location was perfect for access to nearby ski parks. Minuses: The cookware was inadequate. For example, there was no fry pan or spatula. Hence no bacon or pancakes in the morning. Likewise, there were limited cleaning supplies (for example, no sponge or cleaning spray). My biggest complaint though was that most of the cookware was filthy. The pots and pans had some nasty gunk baked on that took considerable effort to remove. That was totally unacceptable. My bottom line is this: If you are planning on not cooking at home, this is a great option. However, if you are planning on cooking at home I might look elsewhere.

We had a great stay—the place is super convenient to the mountains for skiing and to restaurants around the lake, in a quiet woodsy neighborhood. The place was spotless and a great respite from the cold mountains.

Al and Kristy’s place was very cozy and neat! Best I have been at north tahoe. Al reached out frequently and even gave a heads up on the weather and road conditions. Would definitely stay again.
