The motel was beautiful! I appreciated the included parking, as we had a rental car. I loved all the flowers (we came in April and it was the perfect time for blooms) on the property, it felt a little like a mini Tuscany. I was a bit worried about street traffic but we were situated toward the back of the property and it wasn't bad at all, especially with some white noise played off my phone while we were sleeping. We'd stay here again.
Really thin walls! Place was tidy and the outdoors of the motel is very nice & full of plants.
The parking is really what makes it! Safe, secure, great location.
Beautiful surroundings .. very helpful FDRs .. loved the parking…! .. the rooms are very very tiny. I wish i would of payed attention to this in the photos . The furnace in the room the first night scared us it made so many noises. Read carefully when it says NO AC!!! Lol it was ok but it got warm and only a little single fan was provided. It is very beautiful and welcoming but too tiny for a couple.

Built by the son of a California Gold Rush miner, the historic Marina Motel was built to celebrate the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in the late 1930's and is still run by the same family. Ideally situated between Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge in the popular Marina District, the Marina Motel offers a one-of-a-kind, old world experience. The first impression one has upon stepping into the motel's cobblestone courtyard is "Wow! This is like a little oasis back here with birds chirping, flowers EVERYWHERE, cute little garages and rooms decorated to feel like home. I feel like I'm in Europe." Walk around the corner to the numerous outdoor cafes, restaurants and boutiques on Chestnut and Union Street, take a walk on the beach to the Golden Gate Bridge or rent a bike and ride across it while taking the ferry back, ride a cable car at Fisherman's Wharf or visit the de Young Museum or California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. The best of San Francisco is within easy reach.
