This home away from home was amazing! We spent three nights in this oasis of hospitality, comfort, and beauty! I felt that each time I entered a different room or looked in a new direction, there was a personalized, special note or reminder of the soulful goodness innate to some people. We did not have the time to do any cooking, but if we had, this would have been any chef’s dream kitchen! Seriously – everything about our experience was wonderful. I’m certain if we had needed anything, our host would have responded immediately. Vicki (our host) is the definition of gracious and friendly. She and her family live close by, but she ensures complete privacy. I know the area very well, so we had no trouble finding the cottage. Yet, if anyone doesn’t know the area, they’ll also find it easily because Vicki has thought of everything, and describes everything anyone would need to know – pure perfection. This is truly the best of the best places to stay!

I must say this place is a must! It is like a Hallmark channel movie! Absolutely adorable! I stayed during Christmas. My parents live around the corner. It was quiet, clean, beautiful. I would definitely stay again. My nieces loved it too. Vicki was amazing! She went out of her way to make me happy. Thank you Vicki!

Another memorable Thanksgiving trip to the “chicken house,” as my daughter called Cartwright Cottage for the 2 years since we’ve been. Vicki had the house perfectly set up to accommodate our family, 4 yo & 1 yo too. The high chair and pack n play were fantastic and saved us so much car space! And I am always on high alert about how many outlets a place has—mother’s hauling monitors, sound machines & nightlights know the struggle!—but there is ample outlet space in every room. And the new oven is a chef’s dream! The fresh eggs & homemade jam & cookies were the kind of fabulous touches that have made this place so famous in our family. It’s about a 1.5 hr drive from our home but my husband told me as were relaxing on the deck, listening to the birds sing and petting the world’s friendliest barn cat, “I feel like we could be thousands of miles away right now.” It’s the perfect family getaway spot. Thank you again Vicki for helping us make more priceless family memories!

Cartwright Cottage is a wonderful hidden gem! Ms. Vicki was such a gracious host. She reached out in a timely manner, and went over and above to have everything prepared for our visit. I cannot imagine needing anything that was not already provided. We so enjoyed the homemade cookies and jams. They were delicious, and such an unexpected treat. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the cottage and grounds are. The interior was so tastefully, and comfortably furnished. The peaceful surroundings were beautiful, and the back porch was the perfect place for an early morning cup of coffee. The only negative about Cartwright Cottage was that we only had two days to spend here. This would be a wonderful place for newlyweds, a couple’s anniversary, or a friends’ getaway to reconnect away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city. Next time we will stay longer so we can enjoy the fire pit, grill, and other amenities we did not have time to enjoy.
