We loved our stay here! It was perfect for a quick romantic getaway! Loved the kayaks and the record collection. We will definitely be back! Taylor was also super responsive and a excellent host!

My husband and I joke that we love to visit vacation spots in the off season, opting for peace, away from our chaotic lives raising children. Smith Mountain Lake did not disappoint. It was so quiet. And exactly what we needed. My husband had so much success fishing, and just loved sitting on the dock in the January sunshine. I spent some time down on the dock with him, but ultimately opted for the cozy indoor views. We had a lovely dinner at the Copper Kettle, and two nights of the most restful sleep. Hummingbird Cottage is so well appointed, with everything you need for a beautiful vacation. We could imagine how much fun it’d be to be there in the summer with our kids. This short getaway was exactly what these tired parents needed, and Smith Mountain Lake is at the top of our list to visit again.
