lovely glamping space with all the amenities you'd want. it's a nice overlook part way into a ravine that you walk into behind the main house. the shower and bathroom is a short walk around the huge tent which is appointed very nicely. all the amenities are listed and accurate which is super helpful and Melissa's responses to questions were prompt and clear which is important in a non-traditional stay like this. it's in Des Moines proper as well which is wild because you're no more than ten to fifteen minutes away from anything you'd want to do in town. we stayed in the spring and the heater kept everything cozy and warm and a thunderstorm that came through was pleasant to sleep through! would stay again!
Spending the weekend at this location was a tranquil and relaxing experience. It offered a comfortable, secluded, and private space and was located close to a lot of interesting things to do in Des Moines. We experienced some inclement weather during our stay but the tent kept us warm and dry and Melissa was proactive about communicating with us about the weather situation as well as offering a place to shelter in the event of severe weather. We would absolutely book this listing again.
We had a great time and will likely come back again in the future
It’s beautiful and clean, the outdoor shower was a cool experience! Overall had a great time. The only downside was it’s pretty close to the main house so not very secluded like it seems. There were also no hiking trails or anything just a small mowed path around the property. Also, the heater turns off in the middle of the night, be weary if you’re staying here in below freezing temperatures!

We are an Iowa family who loves to travel. Our kids love to explore and stay at new places. We have a lot of flexibility in our schedule which allows us to go almost whenever we want. We love Jesus and value the principles that he set forth for us. One of the favorite verses that we talk about a lot is one that our son learned when in preschool - "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ, God forgave you." We love being outside. Hiking trails, going swimming or playing at parks would be the kids favorite activities.
