Incredible space. I would love to stay here again!
David’s place was a great please to spend the night at. Everything was cleaned and cozy. Location is excellent. Also I got the pleasure to meet David in person and such a great guy. I would definitely stay over again.
David's place is absolutely beautiful. I could live there. We stayed only one night but I wish it had been more. Lovely furnishings. Sweet little back balcony overlooking a wonderful garden. David was delightful. Gave us lots of ideas about things to do. I would go back in a heartbeat.
We were born and raised in Douglas and played many times inside this empty church as children. It was definitely nostalgic getting to come back and enjoy it as adults. We love what was done to the space. So much detail was placed into creating a beautiful, peaceful environment. Both in the loft, as well as the garden. A lot of the original components were kept and it only made the space that much more unique and inviting. The place has a large, fully stocked kitchen and the shower is beautiful and spacious. No detail was spared in creating the perfect home away from home. We appreciate that David was kind enough to take the time and give us a quick tour of the rest of the church. Pointing out all the work that they have been putting into it. We can't wait to go back and visit family in our home town and have the opportunity to once again enjoy David's place.
David was so kind and responsive! I enjoyed the personalized notes he left for us and was ready and awake to help us when we couldn’t get in because the lockbox broke! There’s a new one now and we had no issues. Beautiful space, gorgeous bathroom with a huge shower, a peaceful, well tended garden- we would love to come back. Some barking dogs in the neighborhood but quiet inside.

originally from canada, i currently live on the mexican border in rural se arizona where i have purchased and am converting an old church to living quarters and studio space. i love to read, watch good film, exercise and enjoy good conversation. i am an airbnb co-host with mieko hara. mieko is japanese and has been in the US since the 90s, mostly in nyc and the bay area. she is happy to converse with and translate for japanese speaking guests should they require assistance. mieko is also a fine art painter.
