This oasis was nothing short of absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere was calm and serene with Lake Erie serving as a beautiful backdrop. From feeding the horses to hanging on the beach we had a great time here. We got to indulge in some fresh eggs for breakfast from the chickens too! Deonna was an incredible host, so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely keep this escape on our list of places to come back to!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Sugarloaf Farm! Le lieu est unique, avec sa plage privée, les chalets rustiques mais tout à fait charmants, nous n'avons manqué de rien. Deonna est super sympathique et disponible, elle avait toujours une suggestion pour nous, que ce soit des activités, les meilleures épiceries, les endroits à visiter, elle nous a bien conseillé. C'est un environnement idéal pour des vacances en famille, nos enfants ont tissé des liens et ont pu jouer librement sur la plage ou au parc qui est sur la propriété. Séjourner à Sugarloaf Farm, c'est vivre dans la nature au son des vagues, nous avons tellement aimé notre séjour que nous souhaitons en faire notre destination vacances d'été!

What a hidden gem that I didnt realize existed in the beautiful town of Port Colborne. Only minutes from popular west street, these historic cottages are private and beyond peaceful. Views of Lake Erie from the enclosed porch, and steps to the private sandy swimming beach. The cottage is rustic and wonderful, with everything you could need. I asked my host for a hairdryer and she delivered it personally right away! It was a wonderful surprise to have fresh flowers, local maple syrup and pancakes waiting at our arrival. Thank you for our home away from home. I highly recomend this gem.

Our stay on the shore of Sugarloaf was great, and our 11 year old loves the freedom and nature it affords. We will definitely be going back, and for a much longer stay. The cabin is NOT about luxury and highend amenities; it is an old cottage retaining much of the character it had when built 100 years ago. The updates of a shower and functional kitchen are quaint and geared toward usefulness rather than style. The rooms are comfortable but staying here is about being outside, on the sand and in the water, not about the cottage itself. This is an important point to take to heart when coming to Sugarloaf - unlike most airbnb places that emphasize home comfort above all else, the stay is much less about the home and much more about what surrounds it. The wood structure allows you to hear the waves, and frogs, and wind, and fox, and gulls in a way that a winterized, four-season cottage does not. This cottage may not be the right fit for travelers looking to be spoiled during their vacation; in fact, Sugarloaf is much more about the unspoiled things. Its ridge of undeveloped Carolinian forest (with oaks, walnuts, pines, and maples that have been standing for well over a century) forms a rare spot that has managed to keep time from marching on and trammeling the entire north shore of Lake Erie with monster mansions and suburban fantasies. If you like to live among living things, then Sugarloaf is an ideal place for a family to escape the city and experience what cottaging once was all about.
