The house would be lovely and have great views 3 seasons of the year — just beware in winter. Mainly, winter if it has snowed recently. Granted, it snowed about a foot the day we came in, but the driveway is very steep and at a sharp curve and had at least a foot of snow on it, likely more. So did the walkways, decks and outdoor stairs you needed to climb to reach the house and the hot tub/path to the hot tub. Even with a four wheel drive Land Rover and tire chains, we couldn’t get up the drive. We parked at the bottom and had to haul our items up the steep snowy drive, bit by bit. Our friends had front wheel drive and chains and couldn’t get up the street from the main road. They parked at the bottom. The last day, the water shut off at 8 am. The Wi-Fi only worked after 4 pm.

This house is very solid and a good location. However it is a little outdated. The main television in the living room had a fuzzy screen( we adjusted it and got it ok), The built-in speakers and the speakers by the hot tub we could not get working, the bedroom remote did not work, all TVs are outdated, the hair dryer on the wall did not work, the dishwasher was sticking out from the cabinets and not attached, the chairs on the outside porch were covered in white animal hair but we had no animal issues hair inside the house, hot tub was hot the first day but we could not get the hot tub to heat to 103° the second day? The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. This could be an extremely nice place if the amenities were just updated. Overall it served the purpose but for over $1,200 for 2 days it was a little expensive for the experience. I did not contact Matt at any time to correct any of these issues so I am not complaining about the response at all.I am just make do type

Perfect spot for a long weekend getaway with friends and pups. Spacious and comfortable, with easy access to Dolly Sods, Blackwater, and downtown Davis. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view, comfortable house. The house itself could use some maintenance, but all in all it was a good stay.
