自我介绍

My wife and I were both born and raised in Bryson City, NC. Outside of college, we both spent the first 35 years of our lives in Bryson City. We started dating when we were 16 years old and have been together ever since. My family owns JJ's Tubes on Deep Creek and I was fortunate to grow up on Deep Creek and spent my summers fishing/tubing the creek and providing cheap labor at our tube rental business. Wanting to raise my family on Deep Creek, Lauren and I built the house in 2009 anticipating having a family large enough to eventually fill the home. Life had other plans. We had our son, Jory, in 2018. My wife is a school teacher. We both wanted her to be able to stay home with our son until he started school, but it didn't seem financially possible at first. At our age and given the difficulties we had in the past, we knew Jory would be our only child and we would never fill the space in the home. As such, to realize our goal of my wife staying home with our son we decided to convert our home into 3 completely separate/private apartments. The plan was for us to live in one apartment and rent the other two to give us additional income to make up for my wife staying home. While not planned, the homes layout made the conversion into three apartments, each with a private entrance, full kitchen, and private parking, a very simple process. I am a woodworker and made all of the custom furniture for the apartments. In early 2020 we decided to move out of the middle apartment, so we are now renting all three apartments. We are mostly hands off hosts, but if our guests need anything we get it taken care of asap. I believe given our perfect location in the heart of all the main local attractions coupled with the very reasonable rates we charge that our place is one of the best values in the area...but I suppose I am a little biased.
