I booked this townhouse at in-season prices. $1200 per night, plus a $900 fee plus $250 cleaning fee. The booking, once made, could not be cancelled. Here was my experience: Issue 1: The Host is a property management company. They did not know where the townhouse was. Prior to booking, I contacted the Host via AirBnB chat. I asked for more detailed information about the location of the property. I asked for the name of the building in Keystone and specifically said we were trying to stay near family (my sister’s family rented a condo in the village). The answer provided was “River Run Townhomes.” I said, “Thanks! Maybe because it's a newer building I can't find it. Can you share the address?” The Host’s response: “Unfortunately, I'm not allowed on Airbnb to share address! The property is in Keystone on Dercum Square :)” (I’ll note that AirBnB does not forbid hosts from disclosing the property address. It merely doesn’t require that hosts disclose it prior to booking for obvious safety reasons). My next reply: “Okay. Then it’s not one of the townhomes on Erickson Loop Rd?” The Leavetown agent: “No, on Google Maps you will find it under River Run Village.” Believing them, I booked the townhouse. The address for the property , shown after booking, is 0.25 miles from the Gondola. At Checkin, I learned that this townhouse is ABSOLUTELY one of the townhouses on Erickson Loop Rd. I never would have booked this townhouse had the correct information been provided to me. The real location is an extra ¼ mile from the property’s listed address. Luxury prices a half mile from the gondola? Half mile means we have to carry my 2.5 yr old or we have to schlep a stroller. My 5 yr old has to walk that extra distance in ski gear. My mother cannot walk that extra distance nor can she traverse the snow/ice covered road between the village and the townhouse. The Host defended the listing’s location. They offered me a 25% refund. Appalling. Issue 2: Checkin. The address listed in the checkin section for checkin after 4 PM was very detailed but completely wrong. After a 5 hr flight, and a 2 hr drive from Denver, we arrived at the checkin address at 6:45 PM. My husband and I had to wander around the nearly empty Keystone Conference Center, looking for checkin, repeatedly told by employees that they had no idea what we were talking about. Finally someone said, “oh. Yeah. They keep giving this address but it’s wrong. It’s across the street.” So it seems this isn’t the first time that this has happened? I don’t know. But it’s pitch black outside. The Conference Center employees understandably had no more info. While my husband drove us - this includes my 5 and 2.5 yr old children and my 75-yr old parents - around in the dark, I tried to call the phone number given to me the day prior by a the Host via AirBnB chat. Busy signal - only a busy signal. No one was answering the Airbnb chat. Thinking at this point that I’d been scammed, I went to the Host’s corporate website and was able to get in contact via chat with an agent. At 7:28 PM, we got the correct address (the one listed in the checkin instructions for pre-4 PM checkin). That’s 45 minutes. I feel it’s important to mention that my 5 yr old and 2.5 yr old were losing their minds. They were exhausted and crying/screaming. My 75-yr old parents were stressed and concerned. I speak from considerable business and personal travel experience - this checkin experience was unacceptable. Issue 3: And now for the typical AirBnB issues. The “chef’s” kitchen…has a 5-cup coffee machine for a townhouse that sleeps 8. It has one “knife” for cooking. No mixing bowls. A broken vegetable peeler. A 1-cup Pyrex. No measuring cups. A missing 1 Tablespoon measuring spoon. 6 water glasses, 10 rocks glasses and some juice glasses. Bring all your own laundry soap, foil, food storage containers, etc. These things are cheap.

Wonderful place to stay. We are definitely coming back we had such a great time.
