Start your day in paradise by sipping delicious Costa Rican coffee out on the poolside patio, surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. Marvel at the sight of Scarlet Macaws, Toucans, Iguanas and White Face Monkeys in the tree tops! After a fun filled day on a tour or at the beach, rinse off and refresh in the outdoor garden shower. Prepare amazing meals with fresh locally grown food in the fully appointed air conditioned kitchen. BBQ poolside, or have a private chef spoil you for your special occasion! You'll enjoy a great nights sleep in the air-conditioned comfy downstairs master king bedroom and queen second bedroom, with shared full bathroom. The original half bath has been recently renovated and now has a shower, making the house a 3 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms. Upstairs there is an air conditioned open loft with two more queen beds. The home sleeps 8 comfortably. There is no indoor living room, however the spacious covered outside patio has a couch, 8 person dining table and numerous lounge chairs. Please be sure to list the correct number of guests as we have a discounted rate for smaller groups, and charge an additional fee for larger groups. Watch the hummingbirds hover through the beautifully landscaped grounds, with all varieties of fragrant tropical flowers and mature trees. Access this conveniently located corner of paradise with a 2 wheel drive vehicle (no 4x4 is necessary), and park it under the shaded carport. Our coastline is dotted with pristine waterfalls and beautiful uncrowded beaches perfect for surf, boogie board, long walks and lazy afternoons. You could stay for weeks in our area, enjoying the dozens of amazing restaurants, relaxation and adventure tours for young and old alike, and an incredible abundance of wildlife and natural beauty. We enjoyed our time at Casa Uvita. It was clean, comfortable, and private. We loved that it was walking distance to the beach, and close to many restaurants and grocery options. The outdoor area was very relaxing, even in the rain. We would highly recommend staying here!
We got to see lots of wildlife at Casa Uvita while we were in the pool, and there aren’t any houses behind the backyard. It was only my husband and I, but the house could easily fit a larger family. There are lots of seating options outdoor, but there is no living room inside the house. A couple restaurants within walking distance, and more within really short drives. National park beach is only a short walk too!
The accommodations were very nice and the A/C worked well in all rooms and quickly cooled the house. Because we were there during a hot time, it would have been great to have a living/dining room with air conditioning. For dining, this house has an outdoor sofa, table and benches and lounge chairs looking over the pool, which was very nice. It was a short walk to the beach but you have to pay $6/per person per day to access the beach, which is unfortunate and makes local beach access inconvenient. Sebas and other very good restaurants and bars were close by, and many others a short drive. Many nearby beaches are drivable and the area has lots to explore. Tom & Christine went above and beyond to make our stay excellent answering questions and providing additional amenities to make us feel right at home.
We had such a great stay here - the gardens are beautiful (we spent a lot of time watching monkeys, iguanas and hummingbirds from the pool), and the house is clean and comfortable. Tom and Christine couldn't have been more helpful, giving us great recommendations and keeping us informed throughout our stay - you could tell they really cared about us having a good time. Although it says in the description, worth pointing out that there's no TV and no inside communal living room (although there is a large kitchen and outside dining space). Neither were a problem for us. It's very easy to walk from the house to the beach and restaurants, and a quick drive to 'central' Uvita.
We spent six nights in the house. It looked as in the pictures: quality materials, private garden, nice small pool (deeper than we expected which was nice). Tom and Christine are easy to communicate with - quick to respond and Tom gave us some good tips on where to go on arrival. The area offers so many beautiful experiences, could easily have stayed a few more days.

Tom was a lifelong native of Florida, and Christine has resided in 20 different countries and states, including Thailand, Germany and Okinawa. Tom wanted to live in the mountains, and Christine wanted to live by the ocean. They both fell in love with the Southern Zone of Costa Rica where the rain forest mountains kiss the Pacific Ocean. In 2008, they bought a gorgeous ocean-view mountainside property, and built their dream home. Tom has over 28 years experience in overhead/underground electrical line construction/repair, Christine is an independent business owner in the financial services industry since 1983. About Jaguar Property Management Over the years, getting to know the local community and our neighbors, we realized that many owners were repeatedly disappointed by the lack of service from successive property managers and maintenance providers. Some owners unfortunately experienced being taken advantage of, not getting the service they were paying for, or were frustrated by the lack of communication and understanding of their requirements. There was a real need for a reliable, honest team that listens, and truly cares for clients needs and their properties, rental guests and homes. We are hard-working folks that take pride in delivering the highest level of service, and enjoy making our clients and guests happy, and feel at ease. Our different skill sets and experiences blend in a "cover-all-the bases" team approach. Our goal is to have happy, satisfied, referring clients and guests.
