The Beehive is a beautifully furnished and decorated, comfortable cottage with a lovely view. Georgina provisioned us with all the necessaries for breakfast. We had a very enjoyable stay indeed.

Beautiful place to stay, very welcoming. Spotlessly clean and the welcome items for breakfast, bread, lurpack butter, extra special yogurt, blueberries, orange juice, milk and cereals, fresh fruit and teas and coffees were all the highest quality. We shall definitely be returning

We loved our stay at The Beehive - small and perfectly formed. Exactly as described and spotlessly clean, it was just what we needed as a comfortable base for exploring the north east. Detailed directions from Georgina got us there without issue and she was also kind enough to offer suggestions on how to spend a free afternoon. The WiFi wasn't great but we didn't go there for the internet! Thank you for having us - would love to come back one day!

This is a little bolt hole in the grounds of a country estate. There were lots to explore within the grounds such as ponds and woodland. We saw lots of gorgeous birds. It was peaceful. The room itself is around the back of the Manor House / hall in a secure court yard. The room was lovely and warm and cozy. There was. a microwave in the vestibule as you walked in which was useful (although I don’t remember this being listed so a bonus). Plenty of takeaways in a nearby village of Ferryhill. We had a lovely Indian one evening. It’s ideally situated for trips into Durham however we wanted quiet. Great to get away from it all. The squirrels in the garden were a lovely good morning welcome. They played around for hours. Tastefully decorated, very clean. Loved it. Only negative was the bed was a bit too soft especially on the right hand side. I have already recommended my daughter visit.

We had a good time at the Beehive, and it's clear that the owners have thought of everything in detail. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet, the place is private, and we loved the country theme. The room was clean, well taken care of and the hosts had kindly offered us breakfast. On the downside, the listing was rather hard to locate, despite the host's extra guidelines. We arrived at night and it took us a good while until we actually made it to the place, especially as there's absolutely no road light and we were driving in the woods. Also, the internet connection is quite poor in the room, both WiFi and mobile data. Overall, would recommend to anyone looking for a homey and private stay close to Durham.
