自我介绍

After nearly 18 years in NYC, most of which time was spent as an international investment banker, I am now a mom living in the country on an antique farmstead that we purchased in 2011. The main house dates back to 1697 and is a small cape with much of the original details still intact; some day it will become a restoration project for me but for now I am busy with the gardens, barns, animals, guest house... So far, we have gutted the guest house kitchens (yes, two) and rebuilt the main kitchen, done some cosmetic work and are in the process of relocating doors and windows (a conceptual state at the moment as I am always planning my next project! We have also taken on the grounds as a never ending project - clearing an acre of overgrown vines (Tarzan could have swung on them!), prickle bushes and poison sumac - those were fun summers :) Now we are leveling fields for the alpaca, building another barn, putting up fencing, building rock walls, planting hundreds of plants to create new garden beds (still working on that one :(, restoring a terraced garden for vegetables, and planting a fruit tree orchard. I do like to stay busy! We have close to 4 acres that we are working on to create a farm. We currently have six suri alpaca and approximately 40 chickens of differing breeds; needless to say, eggs are plentiful (in the summer) and I am happy to share! We also have two very friendly dogs - a noisy barking yellow lab named Dillon and a ball/stick/anything that might move obsessed Belgian Shepherd named Arthur, who will likely greet you before I even realized you have arrived. We welcome your dogs, provided everyone plays nicely and doesn't make an indoor mess or chase chickens! I bought this property so I could create a healthy farm environment for my family and support my efforts by renting the guest house. I greatly enjoy meeting the many guests we have had and look forward to welcoming more to our home. There is much to do in and around Lyme: summer beaches are everywhere, fall leaf watching is beautiful, nearby marinas, excellent restaurants, well-run museums and art galleries, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, hiking trails and boat launches (aka dog beaches!), just to name a few. I am happy to help plan your visit if you tell me what you enjoy. If you want to picnic, we have baskets, blankets, and dishes/glasses available for your use during your visit.
