Our party of 6 loved this house. My parents were with us and could not stop raving about how well the kitchen was stocked and how high quality all the furniture was. Volcano is very small so I definitely agree with others to stock up in Hilo (30-40 min away) before coming here. We had couple of rainy days but frankly did not mind staying inside. WiFi worked excellent as well. Definitely recommend.

Really fabulous place to stay at if you are considering something a bit different for your Big Island trip. Note that the weather is much cooler 'upcountry' by Volcanoes NP and the location is more remote (this isn't Kona!). This clearly matched the description and was just what we wanted - you could open up the back door and just hear the birds behind the house. Being so close to the entrance of the park was a real treat and the additional size of this house makes it a perfect place to stay in and cook a meal after a day of exploring. Very comfortable, clean and beautiful. One of the few places we've stayed at that was even larger/more spacious than the pictures seem.

Arieh's home is absolutely beautiful, remodeled in a way that enhances the historic character and charm of the property. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee, spices, condiments, and even a bowl of fresh fruit. Soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, and every other household item were also on hand - those little details are important when staying in a rather remote location, where it might not be possible to run to the store. The house is perfectly situated for exploring Volcano National Park, which was an incredible experience. Arieh is prompt, clear and kind in her communications, and we appreciated her recommendations for restaurants in Volcano. We hope to return for a longer stay some time.
