Pros: big bedroom and bath, desk, big closet, nice kitchen, cool basement, lovely garden, permanent roommate (Peter) is a saint, and good privacy + flexibility from the host. Cons: pool was cleaned once during my stay so don’t expect to use the hot tub ever either, lots of dog poo in yard sometimes, stained mattress + carpet, no shower curtain, furniture not match photos, no hot water in bathroom sink, must buy your own TP, shampoo, soap etc (only gave me one roll), parking space haunts my nightmares (driveway and space super tight and more than 5 times someone was parked in my spot), no lock on door, their dog barks excessively sometimes at night and in the morning, location not walkable. Host’s bf let my dog escape 5+ times… finally, host became very rude, hostile, or just completely ignored me after her gate closed on my car causing 3k in damage. She accused me of doing it to myself for fun. Her + her bf’s personality pulled a 180° and I now think they are unauthentic as it comes.

J'ai eu la chance de séjourner plusieurs semaines chez Carin et j'ai adoré chaque minute passée là bas ! C'est situé dans un quartier très paisible, la maison est magnifique et extrêmement bien équipée, elle se trouve a proximité des commerces et du Ventura Boulevard, en empruntant les routes du splendide Topanga Canyon, on arrive aux plages et la ballade est spectaculaire. Carin a toujours été là pour me donner des informations et des recommandations, elle est chaleureuse et accueillante. J'espère avoir la chance de rester à nouveau chez Carin car c'est merveilleux.

I stayed at Carin’s house for 10 weeks. Carin was friendly to me throughout the period and was willing to accommodate every request. I was able to use everything in the kitchen and she kept it very clean. Plenty of pantry storage and decent fridge space for food. Stores for everything imaginable are located within a 5-minute drive from the house. The neighborhood is quiet, but the roads are hilly and narrow, so be careful when driving. If you have a car during your stay (which I recommend because the area isn’t super walkable), I suggest getting a compact car because the narrow driveway and the surrounding plants can leave scratches. Other guests are staying in the house who are friendly and respectful about common areas, but TV noise might be loud to some. The bedroom is as advertised, and the bathroom is clean and in good condition. Overall, I had a comfortable and pleasant stay with Carin and recommend her!

Carin's home is elegant, stylish, and welcoming. The grounds and interior spaces are beautiful. The way the sunlight comes into the sitting room in the morning makes it a beautiful place to enjoy your coffee. I enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen. The guest room is huge and gets excellent natural light. It's a great place to work from home. There's a lot of storage space if you're traveling with lots of things. Great dog-walking neighborhood! I really enjoyed my housemates. In addition to Carin and Randall, there's Peter and the occupants of the two rooms rented on Airbnb (this room and the casita). All were lovely and so kind to me and my dog. My only complaint is while everyone is chill, it can be a surprisingly noisy place. Lots of workers coming and going and TVs are on frequently and LOUD. I found this distracting and frustrating at times. However, I eventually learned to manage and mask the noise and would easily stay again as I loved the house and the people.
