A pretty apartment on the first and second floors of a guest house designed by the singer Lila Downs and saxophonist Paul Cohen. It has a modern kitchen and a lot of light, and is located close to the city center of Oaxaca on a hill overlooking the city. It is downstairs from another guest house (El Comalito: https://www.airbnb.com/h/comalito) that sleeps 16 people. THE COMALITO DOWNSTAIRS GUESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE UPSTAIRS, POOL, STUDIO OR UPSTAIRS AREA IN GENERAL. THANK YOU. On the ground level, there is a small outdoor patio which is the entrance to the kitchen and living room. There is a staircase with eight stairs leading to the master bedroom, which has a king bed and its own full bathroom. The master bedroom also has a patio overlooking the street.There is a second full bathroom on the ground floor which is right below a sleeping loft which has one queen bed and one individual bed. It is a spacious apartment, with high ceilings.

We enjoyed little comalito very much. Sweet apartment with 2 beds and baths and cute balcony to sit on enjoy the music floating in the air from Lila's Humito. Also great to eat and you much try the hot chocolate and enchiladas suizas for breakfast!

Our family of four loved our stay here. Front bedroom was noisy but Humito had nice music and other noise was from upstairs guests. Back bedroom where kids slept was quiet. I loved the design, the cleanliness, and neighborhood. We will be back!

The apartment is very sweet and spacious. The restaurant next door has live music which is loud in the apartment but finished at 10pm. The road was closed for construction works while we were there which was a shame because of the noise and mud - not the hosts' fault but we found it a little odd that this was not communicated to us beforehand as it caused a few problems (trying to navigate the shared airport taxi system in a foreign language, not knowing where we could park when our friend arrived with our hire car) but would have been fine if we had known beforehand.

From the apartment to the city center it’s a 12 minute walk. The neighborhood is called La Panoramica, which overlooks the city center. There is a small grocery store a few houses down the street, and a cosy restaurant next door (Humito Cocina) . The apartment overlooks the city and one can see the archaeological sites of Monte Alban and Atzompa across the valley.
