This apartment is just a few steps from the seashore, which is surrounded by the Mediterranean pine forest, creating a palette of blue and green, an idyllic scenery for a walk or ride.
The gracious curve of the Monte Gordo bay protects a friendly and inviting beach, where the local fishing boats add a touch of color to the golden sand and where the seagulls return to at the end of the day when their work is done.
Nature
The National Forest of the Maritime Dunes of Vila Real de Santo António provides an encompassing area of nature where 12km of paths have been laid, making it an ideal location for practicing all kinds of sports but also a wonderful opportunity for those who want to stroll in a relaxed fashion and appreciate the native flora and fauna.
Gastronomy
Monte Gordo and the surrounding villages are known for the quality and quantity of their restaurants and typical gastronomy of the region, namely fresh fish and seafood, like the “cataplana”.
Culture
Monte Gordo is 10 minutes away (car) from the city of Vila Real de Santo António, where you can visit the traditional village designed by the Marquis of Pombal, buy Portuguese souvenirs, see traditional shops, restaurants, or access a ferryboat with a connection to Spain.
Activites
Golf is also much enjoyed here with two courses situated close to Cacela Velha. Both are eighteen holes, par 72 and measure, in the case of Quinta de Baixo, 6,016m and Quinta de Cima, 6,256m.
