Mara has a beautiful farm only a 10 minute drive from Daylesford town centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and spent pretty much all of 3 days on site. We went for walks with Haru, fished, picked some vegetables from her garden, cooked, and warmed up by the fireplace in the evenings. It really was bliss we did not want to leave. Perfect for anyone looking to switch off from their busy lives and immerse themselves this wonderful place Mara and her family call home.

We had the most beautiful stay at Mara and Ralph’s farm. We were so warmly welcomed with a big cuddle from Mara and spent the night next to a fire with a cheese platter. The next day we experienced farm life (pigs, chicken, geese, vegetables) with our 19 month old daughter who couldn’t wipe the smile of her face. We then indulged in the chestnut and pasta making course on Sunday. The farm is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. Mara was the most attentive host, making sure all our needs were met with beautiful warmth and nothing was too hard. We can’t wait to be back here in different seasons to experience all that Orto offers. Thank you Mara and Ralph, we made family memories that will last a lifetime.

Mara's beautiful home is a relaxing and peaceful world away from everyday life. Welcoming and serene and surrounded by a lush, productive garden that guests are warmly invited to share. Mara's stylish touch is evident all around, with fresh garden elements thoughtfully dotted inside, along with hand-made organics and cool retro furniture and utensils. All in a functional and cosy space you'd expect from straw-bale construction. Thanks for sharing (particularly the delicious figs!)

We had a wonderful stay at Mara's farm. Mara's warm welcome made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. She showed us around the farm and treated us to delicious boysenberry drinks. The bedroom was clean, ensuring a comfortable and restful night's sleep. Overall, we are grateful for the opportunity to experience Mara's farm stay.

Mara made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We were treated to a farm made berry cocktail and a farm produced platter of fruits and cheeses as Mara gave us a picture book history of the property. We were then given a tour of the property and Mara's working farm and self sufficient lifestyle. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and without any modern day distractions. A 5 minute drive to beautiful Daylesford and in a spot that is perfect for day tripping to smaller townships and local attractions. Mara was a fantastic hostess that gave us all the information for a great getaway and then left us to enjoy our time on her farm with the option to pick, prepare and cook food or just have a friendly chat. Thank you for a great mid week getaway.
